What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

As a Content Specialist, we strategize, craft, review, and elevate content that helps users create and communicate with confidence. We focus on quality, consistency, and scalability, making sure content feels human while working at Canva’s massive scale.

This role blends creative strategy, content development, and hands-on execution across a range of content formats, from short-form templates to longer-form editorial, supported by collaboration, systems thinking, and the thoughtful use of AI to drive scale, quality, and efficiency.

Our work contributes directly to how users understand, trust, and love Canva.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Contribute to creative strategy and content development across a range of template categories (e.g., presentations, docs, video, social, print).

  • Write, edit, and review across a range of formats, including shorter-form template copy and longer-form content such as blog posts, landing pages, or campaign narratives, while ensuring clarity, quality, and consistency at scale.

  • Collaborate closely with designers and stakeholders to ensure content and visuals work together seamlessly.

  • Apply and help evolve style guides and quality standards in day-to-day work.

  • Manage content workflows, including briefs, reviews, and iteration cycles.

  • Use AI tools to support content strategy, execution, and quality reviews, applying strong craft judgment to ensure outputs meet Canva’s voice, brand, and user needs.

  • Give thoughtful, constructive feedback to collaborators, and contribute to improving content and AI-supported workflows through shared learnings and best practices.

You're probably a match if:

  • You bring at least five years of experience in content writing, copywriting, editorial, or content strategy within a tech or digital product environment.

  • You demonstrate exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone, structure, and messaging across formats and user audiences.

  • You have a sharp attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, ensuring consistency with brand voice, style guidelines, and content standards.

  • You collaborate confidently across disciplines, partnering with content strategists, designers, marketers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive messaging.

  • You’re comfortable managing multiple projects and shifting priorities, thriving in fast-paced environments without compromising quality.

  • You think strategically and lead with strong user empathy, connecting content decisions to business goals and measurable outcomes.

  • You use research, insights, and performance data to inform your work, articulating the rationale behind your content decisions with clarity and confidence.

  • You’re familiar with AI tools such as ChatGPT (preferred) and Claude, using structured prompting to support content development and workflow efficiency, while applying strong editorial judgment to ensure quality and originality.

  • You’re open to giving and receiving constructive feedback, demonstrating a mindset of continuous learning and improvement.

Our team works across templates and surfaces to make sure words and visuals work together seamlessly.
