Somnio seeks a freelance Concept/Campaign Designer.  This role is ideal for a visionary designer with a passion for conceptual thinking and the ability to translate ideas into captivating visual campaigns. As a Conceptual Art Director, you will be responsible for developing original concepts and creative strategies, bringing them to life across various platforms to ensure powerful storytelling and brand alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with creative teams, including copywriters and strategists, to conceptualize and develop innovative ideas for campaigns that resonate with target audiences.

  • Lead the creation of visual concepts, mood boards, and design executions from ideation through to final delivery.

  • Ensure all creative work aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives while pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.

  • Oversee the design process, providing direction and feedback to ensure high-quality, cohesive deliverables across digital, print, social media, and other media platforms.

  • Present and articulate creative ideas, concepts, and strategies to internal teams and clients with confidence and clarity.

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design innovations to inspire fresh and cutting-edge concepts.

  • Work closely with project managers to meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of creative output.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Art Director or Conceptual Designer, particularly in campaign development and execution.

  • Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to translate ideas into compelling visual narratives.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively sell ideas and lead creative discussions.

  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling and design trends.

  • Experience working across multiple media platforms (digital, social, print, video).

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • A portfolio that demonstrates creative excellence in campaign work, showcasing your ability to develop and execute bold, engaging ideas.

Preferred:

  • Experience in agency or creative environment.

  • Background in working with high-profile brands and clients.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Adobe Creative Suite: Highly skilled in Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Microsoft Office: knowledge of PowerPoint and Word

  • Sharp eye for layout and graphic design

  • Creative and independent problem solving

  • Experience in simple illustrations and digital drawings

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience working within brand standards

  • Ability to develop project from creative conception to final deliverable

  • Digital typesetting knowledge

  • Color theory knowledge

  • Willingness to work on a team

  • Responsiveness to constructive criticism

  • Ability to work under pressure and quick turnarounds when necessary

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS

TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT:

  • Full-time contractor on a retainer

  • 100% remote work

  • Compensation in USD

  • Must be available to work Monday to Friday, CDT hours
