Community Director - LF Energy
Company Description
LF Energy is the open source foundation for shared development of open technology platforms, data, and standards to solve common challenges for delivering affordable, reliable, safe, and clean energy. We bring together grid operators, technology providers, research institutions, regulators, and policymakers to build the digital infrastructure for modern energy systems. Our projects address critical challenges to accelerate the energy transition, such as grid flexibility, renewable integration, market coordination, and operational efficiency. PowSyBl enables transparent grid simulation as scale. OpenSTEF forecasts and optimizes short-term energy forecasts. OpenSynth democratizes access to grid data while preserving privacy and security. These tools, and others in our portfolio, are production-grade, deployed across European networks, and built by the organizations that depend on them. LF Energy is part of the Linux Foundation, the trusted home for the most critical open technology projects in the world that ensures neutral governance, transparent decision-making, and infrastructure proven across critical industries.
The energy sector is undergoing its most significant transformation in a century. Open source tools make this transition faster, cheaper, and more equitable by reducing vendor lock-in, improving interoperability, and distributing development costs across the ecosystem. We're building the commons that powers the energy transition and modern energy services.
Job Description
The Role
You will drive open source adoption across European energy infrastructure by nurturing relationships with system operators, regulators, and policymakers to help deliver affordable, reliable, safe, and clean energy. You will partner with Linux Foundation teams to document successes and build thought leadership. You will track adoption metrics and report on community growth.
This is a two-year, full-time position reporting to the Executive Director of LF Energy, with potential for extension based on funding availability and performance.
Location and Work Arrangements

Facilitate special interest group meetings, driving consensus and decision-making across diverse stakeholders

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience presenting technical and policy topics to executive, regulatory, and technical audiences
Proven ability to build alignment among diverse stakeholders and unite organizations around open source projects, driving consensus and collective action in distributed and asynchronous environments.
