Communications Manager - Product & Launches

The Communications team is responsible for telling the Airbnb story around the world. Whether it's speaking to media and bloggers, hosts and guests, industry commentators, thought leaders or the wider community, the Communications team is the voice of Airbnb. 

The Difference You Will Make:

Airbnb is hiring a Communications Manager to join the Product & Launch Communications team, which is part of the Global Consumer & Product team. This role will support the product communications strategy, and specifically our bi-annual launches, with a focus on media relations.

A Typical Day:

• Identify, cultivate and maintain US press relationships fundamental to our product work.

• Develop clear and compelling press materials (i.e. pitches) that breakthrough

• Form part of the core media relations team during product launches, which handles press outreach, executive interviews, and press event logistics. 

• Support international comms teams during global, regional and local product moments, including reviewing or drafting relevant press materials.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop press opportunities that support our product news and narrative

• Keep a pulse on emerging themes, trends and opportunities in the news that are relevant to our business, with recommendations on how to act on them.

• Help compile and evaluate resulting launch coverage, including that of other industry players.

Your Expertise:

• 5+  years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Established US media relationships in the business, product, tech and general consumer space.

• Knack for finding an untold story, or a creative take on an expected or worn-out one.

• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

• Demonstrate outstanding proactive and multi-tasking abilities.

• Passion for Airbnb and the mission of the company.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
