About the role:

We're building a network of talented candidates for future full-time CMS Developer III roles. In this position, you'll leverage your in-depth knowledge of content management systems to tackle intricate challenges and craft innovative solutions. You'll independently apply a broad range of specialized skills and best practices to complex projects, ensuring the work you produce adheres to the highest quality standards.

Seniority Level: Senior Level

Responsibilities:

• CMS-based Website Development: Develop, customize, and maintain complex websites and web applications using a specific CMS platform.

• Custom Theme and Plugin Implementation: Design and implement custom themes, templates, modules, and plugins to extend CMS functionalities and achieve unique user experiences.

• Collaboration for Requirements Translation: Collaborate with designers, content creators, and stakeholders to understand website objectives and translate them into technical requirements.

• Website Optimization: Optimize website performance for speed, accessibility, and search engine ranking (SEO).

• Best Practices Implementation: Implement best practices for code quality, security, and maintainability.

• Issue Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the CMS and website functionality.

• Staying Current with CMS Trends: Stay up-to-date on the latest CMS developments, trends, and best practices.

• Documentation: Document technical specifications and processes for future reference.

• Internal Tools and Workflows: May contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools and workflows.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a CMS developer with in-depth knowledge of a specific CMS platform such as WordPress, Drupal, or HubSpot.

• Proficiency in front-end development languages including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

• Experience with templating languages and frameworks relevant to the chosen CMS platform.

• Proficiency in performance optimization techniques for speed, accessibility, and SEO best practices to enhance website visibility and user experience.

• Expertise in developing custom plugins and themes for CMS platforms.

• Strong understanding of web design principles and best practices for user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design.

• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

• Knowledge of back-end development and database management is a plus.

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular) is a plus.

• Understanding of headless CMS architecture and RESTful APIs is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions

• Ability to anticipate potential problems and proactively address them.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful delivery. Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) is a plus.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
