Role - Cloud Database Engineer III - IN 

Skills - Oracle ( Primary ), MySQl &Cloud ( Secondary )

Timings - Should be ok to work in permanent night shift - Anytime between 6:30pm to 11:00 am .

Job Profile Summary

The Database Administrator Perform database engineering and administration activities including design, planning, configuration, monitoring, automation, self- serviceability, alerting, and space management, database backup and recovery. Plan computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long- range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection with a capacity to lead and advise on migration and modernization, discover, and execute workload migrations to Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Knowledge List

1. 7+ yrs of Administration experience with following Database engines

(i)  Oracle

(ii) MySQL

Ability to Deploy, Manage and Troubleshoot HADR config in one of the following tech buckets SQL Server (Always On, FCI, Loshipping, Replication) or Oracle(RAC, Data guard, Golden Gate)  , MySQL & PostgreSQL( Master slave replication, InnoDB cluster Set) 

 2.     Cloud Platform:

·       Hand’s on with using cloud tech tools such as AWS DMS, SMS, App Migration Service, Migration Hub, Azure Migrate, Data Migration Service, SQL Server DMA, Azure ASR, AWS DRS

·       Understanding Cloud basics and perform duties like security management, storage management, Backup Vaults, Key vaults, Server/DB Monitoring 

·       Knowledge of deploying and managing databases in cloud platforms such as Azure SQL Database or/and Amazon RDS or/and GCP Cloud SQL

3.     Performance Monitoring and Query Optimization:

·       Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures.

·       Understanding of query execution plans and query tuning techniques.

·       Understanding of performance tuning methodologies, indexing strategies, and statistics management.

·       Understanding of monitoring tools and techniques for identifying and addressing performance issues. 

4. Backup and Recovery:

Proficiency in database backup and recovery concepts, including full, differential, and transaction log backups

5.  Troubleshooting Skills:

·       Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot common database-related problems such as connectivity issues, query performance, performance bottlenecks and data corruption.

6.     HA&DR:

·       Familiarity with High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts and understanding the significance of RTO and RPO.

7  Database Upgrades and Migrations: 

·       Understand the process of upgrading Database Server to newer versions and migrating databases to new servers and Migrating databases to Cloud platforms. 

Education Requirements List

·  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a directly related fieldR

Certifications List

·       Database Specialty Certifications in AWS/Azure.

·       Cloud Associate/Professional Certification
