Alma, part of Spring Health, is hiring a Chief of Staff to support the organization’s president. Alma, a part of Spring Health, is committed to its mission driving affordable mental healthcare for all. This role will be at the center of driving the mission forward while integrating with the broader Spring Health team.
The Chief of Staff is the President’s strategic and operational partner, functioning as a true second-in-command who extends the President’s capacity across strategy, financial governance, execution, and organizational health. This role sits at the center of how the organization runs: setting the operating rhythm, driving financial discipline, pressure-testing strategic bets, and ensuring the leadership team’s time and resources are focused on the highest-leverage work. The Chief of Staff reports directly to the President and operates with authority across all functions within the organization.
What you’ll do:
Serve as the President’s primary strategic advisor, leading structured problem-solving on ambiguous, high-stakes questions such as AI investment sequencing and platform vs. feature tradeoffs
Own the financial rhythm of the President’s organization, including budget performance monitoring, forecasting, resource allocation, and investment prioritization, making and recommending resource decisions informed by Revenue Per Employee (RPE) and other efficiency metrics
Drive the organization’s operating cadence by shepherding strategic planning cycles (quarterly and annual), roadmap reviews, KPI reviews, business reviews of key investments, and executive updates
Lead deep-dive analyses on business performance, drawing insights from product adoption, retention, monetization, competitive landscape, and roadmap ROI to inform executive trade-off conversations and investment decisions
Track and unblock critical cross-functional initiatives spanning Product Management, Design, Engineering, Product Marketing, and AI Platform teams, proactively identifying and resolving misalignment before it becomes execution risk
Prepare clear, data-backed narratives and strategic recommendations for the executive team and Board, crafting concise written and visual materials that translate complex analysis into actionable insight
Serve as the eyes and ears for the Senior Leadership team on organizational health, tracking morale, engagement, attrition, and unspoken feedback, and developing engagement action plans rooted in data
Counsel leadership on organizational design, change management, headcount planning, and communications strategy, ensuring alignment between organizational capacity and strategic ambition
Who you are:
You have 8 to 12+ years of experience across a combination of top-tier management consulting (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or equivalent), product strategy, business operations, or strategy and operations roles at a high-growth or large-scale technology company
You have demonstrated financial acumen, with experience owning or significantly influencing budget management, resource allocation, forecasting, financial modeling, or P&L-adjacent decisions
You have a proven track record of working closely with senior executives, influencing at the C-level, and earning the trust to operate with authority on behalf of senior leaders
You move seamlessly between quantitative analysis, qualitative research, and strategic synthesis, analyzing multiple and diverse sources of information to make data-informed, high-impact recommendations
You have strong executive presence and communicate strategically, with the ability to articulate vision, translate complex ideas, connect work to the big picture, and challenge constructively in high-stakes settings
You champion cross-functional collaboration and navigate complex stakeholder relationships, building trust and creating alignment across teams with competing priorities
You demonstrate high judgment, discretion, and resilience, managing difficult situations and hard conversations with professional maturity while maintaining calm and composure under pressure
You have experience operating in complex, matrixed technology businesses and bring familiarity with organizational design, change management, or transformation initiatives at scale
