About the Position

The Business Development Manager responsibilities include working within WatchGuard’s Partner Ecosystem Growth team to drive successful partnerships and alliances that create non-traditional sales opportunities for WatchGuard’s portfolio of products. The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying and developing strategic partnerships with service providers, cloud marketplaces, and strategic vendors to expand WatchGuard’s market reach and drive revenue growth. The Business Development Manager will report to the Technical Director of Business Development and will work closely with the Partner Ecosystem Growth team to jointly plan and execute on a cohesive partner growth strategy. Success in this position will be measured by meeting successful development, growth, and retention goals with assigned strategic partners. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to grow WatchGuard’s Alternate Route to Market business. Develop strategic plans and pitches to potential strategic partnerships

  • Creatively determine “non traditional” sales opportunities and partnerships based on WatchGuard’s portfolio of products

  • Partner with Technical Director of Business Development to manage existing partners and generate new alternate routes to market opportunities which will help grow WatchGuard’s existing partner ecosystem

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and potential strategic partners

  • Maintain regular contact with assigned strategic partners to ensure satisfaction and continued success

  • Accurately forecast and track strategic partner activities and transactions by quarter

  • Regularly report on partner performance, pipeline development, and revenue generating activities for each assigned strategic partner

  • Be knowledgeable of all WatchGuard products, services, and internal sales tools 

  • Support strategic partners on standard methodologies and use of WatchGuard, including training & event support

  • Collaborate with product management, marketing, and technical teams to ensure seamless execution of strategic partnership initiatives

  • Other duties and projects assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with two-tier/channel sales ecosystem required

  • Experience with OEM/technology integrations

  • Experience in network/cyber security space required

  • History of consistent plan development and quota achievement

  • Strong presentation and written skills

  • Ability to self-manage and work remotely

  • Located in assigned territory preferred

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM

  • Fluent in the English language

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in direct and indirect sales in related industry

  • International business development / sales experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in business, sales, or marketing

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000, exclusive of benefits. This position is also eligible for commissions up to  30% of on target earnings. Your base salary compensation will be based on your individual skills, education, and experience. Please keep in mind that the above range is the full base salary range for this role; hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical in order to allow for future salary growth.
