Founded in 2015, SQUIRE is trusted by barbers in 3,000+ shops in more than a thousand cities around the globe. SQUIRE enables barbers everywhere to unlock their full potential both as artists and as entrepreneurs.

For more information, please visit getsquire.com or download the SQUIRE app from the App or Play Store.

SQUIRE is hiring a Backend Engineer to join our Payments product team! In this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our growth by developing and perfecting features that create differentiated experiences for our clients and their customers. You will be part of a globally dispersed team that embraces agile methodology to remain flexible and responsive and will contribute your skills and experience in bringing SQUIRE through the next phase of our growth as we keep our sights laser-focused on Unicorn status.

THE ROLE

As a Backend Engineer, you will build and maintain high-quality product features for service applications using Node.js. You'll collaborate with the Payments product team and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of service applications with the frontend and mobile applications. You will actively participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall code quality, and troubleshoot and resolve software defects and other technical issues.

THE PROCESS

We know searching for a new opportunity can be tedious. We do our best to move quickly and communicate outcomes in a timely manner. Our interview process includes multiple steps to ensure we're hiring individuals who best align with our Company culture, share our passion for our customers and, of course, have the technical skills we require. We believe in transparency, and to that end here's what you can expect from our process:

1. Application Review - we'll take a close look at your resume to see if you have the skills & experience we're looking for.

2. Initial Discussion with our Talent Team - candidates who are selected to move forward will have an initial discussion with our talent team to review the role, your skills/experience and determine whether there's a good mutual fit (you should be interviewing US as much as we're interviewing YOU!)

3. Hiring Manager Interview - selected candidates will meet with our hiring manager to discuss more of the position-specific details.

4. Technical Assessment - we use a team-developed exercise to assess technical skills.

5. Technical Interview - candidates who demonstrate solid technical skills via the assessment will meet with members of our Engineering team to discuss the work done on the technical assessment - why you took the approach you did, alternatives you considered, etc.

6. Holy moly you made it! The final step of our process is a meeting with the Product leader.

We aim to complete this entire process within 2 weeks and let candidates know the outcome of each step of the process in a timely manner. We hope you're up for the challenge!

  • A quiet, distraction-free remote work space with reliable and robust internet connectivity.
