MetroSys is seeking a highly capable Azure Cloud Engineer for a short-term engagement (60–90 days) to support a client’s cloud environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who can quickly assess, remediate, and stabilize Azure environments while contributing to ongoing configuration and deployment efforts.
The ideal candidate is Azure-savvy, execution-focused, and able to step into an active environment, identify issues, and drive resolution with minimal ramp-up time.
Key Responsibilities
Rapidly assess the current Azure environment and identify misconfigurations, risks, and optimization opportunities
Lead efforts to remediate Azure issues, including networking, security, identity, and resource configuration
Support and execute Azure deployments and configuration changes based on client needs
Work through operational tickets and escalations, ensuring timely resolution and system stability
Implement and improve Azure best practices across:
Identity & Access Management (Entra ID / Azure AD)
Networking (VNets, NSGs, connectivity)
Security and governance (policies, RBAC, Defender)
Assist with resource organization, cost optimization, and performance tuning
Document findings, changes, and recommendations for client handoff and long-term sustainability
Collaborate with client stakeholders and internal teams to ensure clear communication and alignment
Required Qualifications
3–7+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles
Strong hands-on experience with:
Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking)
Entra ID / Azure AD
Azure portal, CLI, and/or PowerShell
Proven ability to troubleshoot and remediate cloud environment issues quickly
Experience working in client-facing or consulting environments
Strong understanding of Azure architecture and best practices
Ability to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with Azure governance frameworks (policies, blueprints, landing zones)
Familiarity with security and compliance tools (Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Sentinel)
Experience with automation or Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
Knowledge of hybrid environments (on-prem to Azure connectivity)
Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, etc.)
Engagement Details
Duration: 60–90 days
Type: Full-time, contract engagement
Focus: Azure remediation, configuration, and operational support
Start: Immediate / ASAP preferred
