Virtasant is a leading cloud consulting services provider. We heavily focus on lift & shift, cloud-native development, cloud cost optimization, and migration services. As a consulting company, we often face the challenge of creating an engineering team in a matter of a week or two. To do that, we have created a secondary support business that runs a talent network and provides staffing services.
Our client is a healthcare-focused company that builds software designed to make the process of expediting healthcare plans and approving procedures in record time so that both patients and doctors can focus on what's more important - health.
The position
This is a unique opportunity to join a software engineering team that is growing quickly. You will build impactful healthcare technology on a modern stack utilizing your full-stack software engineering background.
It's a fully remote (of course!), full-time position for candidates in either Latin America, Africa, or Eastern Europe, willing to work with at least 6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time office hours (check what time it is in New York, for instance, and compare to your own to see what's the difference).
Responsibilities
Work on fast-paced, collaborative, agile teams to build and enhance a growing software platform together.
Be responsible for end-to-end feature releases and platform enhancements delivered by the team.
Actively support the technical design process, bringing your expertise and analysis to help make data-driven decisions.
Contribute heavily to feature design, development, testing, and delivery of our client’s cloud platform and web applications.
Support all parts of our client’s platform from the database to the frontend.
Continuously discover, understand, and implement new technologies & services to maximize development efficiency.
Contribute to a culture committed to testing, quality, and attention to detail by supporting best practices such as writing and maintaining comprehensive test coverage.
Actively participate in ensuring our client maintains a disciplined approach to healthcare security.
Your background & requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the software development lifecycle required
Experience working on software development teams, building and deploying full-stack web applications
You can collaborate closely with teammates in product and design to build applications providing healthcare practitioners with the highest quality user experience
You are passionate about building quality products and want to own product development end-to-end, with excellent design and development standards
Experience designing and implementing scalable data services and APIs
Experience building applications using Java, Javascript, Typescript, and React
Experience with web application security practices like XSS, CORS, CSRF protection, Clickjacking protection, and SQL Injection
Experience with and deep knowledge of Cypress (JavaScript or TypeScript)
Experience with and deep knowledge of REST-assured API testing framework and Postman
Experience with and good knowledge of Grafana k6 performance automated testing
Experience with CI/CD with GitHub Actions workflow
You have experience with common software development practices such as version control, and unit testing
Prior experience setting up automation frameworks for UI as well as API testing from the ground up
You are a team player and are interested in working at a fast-paced startup environment
You can start as soon as possible
You are located in either Latin America, Africa or Eastern Europe
You can work EST (Eastern Time) office hours, having at least 6 hours of overlap per day with the rest of the team.
Nice to haves
Prior experience in healthcare and life sciences
Experience with scripting using Groovy
Experience with Atlantis and Playwright
Experience building and deploying software to modern cloud infrastructure using AWS and Terraform or CloudFormation
