The Community You Will Join:

At Airbnb, we want to build a world where anyone can belong anywhere – and the first step in that direction is creating a community that’s open, inclusive, and built on trust.

The Difference You Will Make:

As Global Compliance Specialist, you’ll help scale compliance capabilities at Airbnb by working on a global compliance program where you’ll partner with other compliance & risk professionals at the company. Success in this role is measured by the ability to effectively prioritize and execute projects, meet deadlines in a matrixed organization, identify opportunities and solutions, conduct data analyses, and develop effective compliance processes. The role requires self-motivation, proactiveness, and ability to work independently with limited guidance. Additionally, the role involves regularly presenting to senior leadership and utilizing negotiation skills to achieve desired outcomes. Specialized knowledge and experience in risk and compliance frameworks and ability to deal with ambiguity is essential for this role.

A Typical Day:

As a key member of the Global Compliance Services team, you will partner with other risk and compliance professionals across the company to:

  • Own and execute compliance programs and processes related to change management, issues management, compliance vendor management, consumer protection, and compliance policies.

  • Assess the state of compliance at Airbnb through maturity assessments, control design reviews, and internal audits.

  • Develop and maintain a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tool for compliance risks, requirements, controls, issues, policies, and procedures.

  • Create and maintain compliance reports, dashboards and scorecards in collaboration with compliance, analytics, and engineering teams.

  • Identify compliance risks and gaps and track action plans to address key risks.

  • Work closely with operations, product, engineering, legal, and other stakeholders to support the successful delivery of the global compliance program.

  • Develop content and present program area and initiative status to leadership on an ongoing basis.

Your Expertise:

  • 8+ years of compliance, risk management, or program management experience, preferably in a global technology company.

  • 4+ years experience in implementing and operating various risk and compliance program elements, including governance, reporting, policies and procedures, risk assessment, compliance monitoring & testing, training, and/or third party risk management.

  • Awareness of global laws, regulations, and regulators that impact online platforms.

  • Ability to multitask on multiple projects at one time with good time management and prioritize tasks and work autonomously in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Ability to translate policy and business requirements, collaborating with business stakeholders at all levels to create solutions.

  • Ability to work with product and technology teams, contributing to the definition of requirements and supporting the implementation of effective technical tools.

  • Understanding of how product, technology, and design teams typically operate.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with data analytics tools (Tableau, Superset) preferred.

  • Experience in planning and executing internal audits.

  • BA/BS degree
