Role: Associate Marketing Manager

Description

RocketBlocks is looking for an energetic marketer who describes him/herself as a 'jack of all trades.'

Your primary responsibility will be 1) defining and 2) executing our overall marketing strategy, with a particular focus on furthering our content marketing and social media presences. In addition, you'll have ample opportunity to participate across a wide range of functions including but not limited to business development, partnerships, marketing, sales and PR.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a scrappy, can-do attitude and have a natural tendency to roll up his/her sleeves and get things done. This role will report directly to the CEO (ex-Google, ex-BCG) and offer significant opportunity for mentorship and learning about all aspects of building up a new business.

This a remote role and you can work from anywhere.

RocketBlocks is an online platform founded in 2011 that helps candidates prepare for job interviews. We believe interviewing is a learned activity like any other (e.g., sailing, soccer, playing the violin) and thus the best way to prepare is by honing the underlying skills that are tested.

Our mission is to help candidates build skills that will set them apart in the interviews and on the job at an affordable price. To date, we've helped thousands of students prepare for and land jobs at top companies like McKinsey and Google but we're just getting started...

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement SEO strategies while ensuring that the content created and hosted on RocketBlocks is of high quality and consistent with our brand

  • Partner with the team to create high-quality content that helps our audience advance their careers

  • Define the strategy for our social media engagement and manage our social media presence across LinkedIn, YouTube, Quora and Twitter

  • Build relationships with relevant press outlets and journalists and drive coverage of RocketBlocks in relevant publications

  • Assist in managing our University clients (i.e, Northwestern, Cornell, etc.)

  • Pitch in where needed across multiple disciplines (e.g., sales, support)

Requirements

  • Communication: excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Entrepreneurial: interest and/or experience in starting and seeing through initiatives (whether it's a side project, philanthropy event, company, etc.)

  • Reliable: a track record of delivering on promises

  • Lifelong learner: demonstrated history of learning and acquiring new skills

  • Scrappy: a track record of finding and executing on goals despite having to clear multiple hurdles
