Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design. Hey, g’day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you’re probably keen to find out what’s on offer, so we’ll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work — we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales, our ability to make fast, confident, data-informed decisions is critical. Within Product Platform, the Product Insights & Enablement (PIE) group enables teams to ship with confidence by providing trusted data foundations, experimentation insights, and measurable product impact.

As an Analytics Engineer in PIE, you’ll sit at the intersection of data engineering and analytics. Your focus will be on transforming raw event and product data into clean, scalable, well-documented data models that enable product teams to deeply understand how our internal tools are being used - and where they deliver value.

You’ll operate with growing independence - solving moderately complex data problems, applying established modelling best practices, and contributing to improvements in PIE’s reporting ecosystem. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers, building strong partnerships while deepening your craft.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data models that power internal reporting and experimentation insights within PIE • Transforming raw event and product data into clean, tested datasets ready for analysis • Collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers to define and standardise product metrics • Implementing data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability • Improving documentation and metric clarity to increase transparency and trust in reporting • Contributing to the evolution of analytics engineering workflows, modelling patterns, and tooling within PIE

You’re probably a match if

• You enjoy bringing structure to complexity and building data others can trust • You have experience writing advanced SQL and working with modern data transformation tools (e.g. dbt or similar) • You have a strong understanding of data modelling principles and analytics engineering best practices • You’ve worked with large datasets in cloud data warehouse environments • You can translate product questions into structured, scalable data solutions • You’re a strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders • You have a growth mindset and are motivated to deepen your technical craft

About the team

Product Insights & Enablement (PIE) sits within the Product Platform supergroup. We help teams ship with confidence and measure outcomes at scale. We build the data foundations, experimentation insights, and reporting frameworks that power product decisions across Canva.

Within PIE, we treat data as a product. We prioritise trust, clarity, and scalability - ensuring that every decision is backed by reliable, well-structured data. As Canva grows, our impact grows too.

What’s in it for you?

Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard — and we do — but you’ll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a range of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work.

Here’s a taste of what’s on offer:

• Equity packages — we want our success to be yours too • Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers • An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more • Flexible leave options that empower you to be a force for good, take time to recharge and support you personally

Other stuff to know

We make hiring decisions based on your experience, skills and passion, as well as how you can enhance Canva and our culture. When you apply, please tell us the pronouns you use and any reasonable adjustments you may need during the interview process.

Please note that interviews are conducted virtually.
