Apply for this position → Go ad-free with Premium1 big thing: Axios is a growth-focused media company dedicated to helping people get smarter, faster on what matters. As we expand how we build and scale technology, this role helps ensure our teams can effectively adopt and apply new tools.
The AI Enablement Lead serves as a connective partner across the organization, helping departments translate ideas into actionable AI-supported workflows. This role emphasizes partnership, guidance, and accessibility. It supports teams in understanding the problems they are trying to solve, identifying where AI can help, and navigating a clear path from concept to execution. Why it matters: As the company’s first dedicated AI Enablement Lead, you will act as the central point of contact for AI across Axios. You will be the face of AI within the organization, building trust, providing clarity, and creating approachable pathways for teams to engage with AI in their work. You will translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical guidance, helping teams understand when and how to use AI to improve productivity while upholding responsible usage standards. Rather than defining AI strategy for teams, you will partner with departments to help them achieve their own goals. You will provide guidance, structured support, and targeted learning where needed. You will also drive consistent communication around AI efforts, ensuring teams understand what is possible, what is working, and how to move forward.
Go deeper: While this role sits within the Product, Design, and Technology department, you will partner closely with Talent Management and HR to align AI enablement with broader competency frameworks, career development goals, and employee learning strategies. This ensures that support is not one-off, but contributes to long-term capability building across the organization.

Offer ad hoc guidance to individuals and teams working through specific challenges or ideas

Serve as a consistent, visible resource for AI-related questions and problem-solving
Targeted Training & Enablement
Deliver focused, practical training sessions based on real team needs and use cases
Provide learning opportunities such as workshops, demos, and guided working sessions
Support teams in applying AI tools directly to their workflows rather than teaching abstract concepts
Partner with Talent Management and HR to align learning efforts with broader development frameworks
Communication & Visibility
Own and drive clear, consistent communication about AI across the organization
Share updates, success stories, and examples of how teams are using AI effectively
Help demystify AI by translating complex concepts into accessible, practical language
Establish yourself as the recognizable and approachable face of AI at Axios
Responsible Use & Best Practices
Promote thoughtful, responsible use of AI tools across teams
Provide guidance on appropriate use cases, limitations, and risks
Develop and share lightweight best practices that teams can easily adopt
Ensure teams are equipped to use AI safely while still moving quickly

Organizational Collaboration
Partner with leaders and managers to understand team goals and where AI can support them
Help identify gaps in understanding, tooling, or workflow design that may block progress

Skills:
Strong curiosity about emerging AI technologies and a desire to continuously learn
Strong communication skills. Able to translate technical concepts into accessible guidance
Practical understanding of AI tools and how they apply to real-world workflows
Ability to break down ambiguous problems and guide teams toward clear solutions
Experience facilitating discussions, workshops, or advisory sessions with cross-functional teams
