Who You Are

As an Account Manager at brightwheel, you embody the intersection of strategic thinking and client-focused execution. You are known for your ability to nurture and grow complex client relationships, especially within the governmental and large enterprise sectors. Your expertise lies not just in managing accounts but in deeply understanding the unique challenges and needs of each client, enabling you to drive tailored strategies for client retention and expansion.

You possess a keen sense of business acumen, adept at identifying and seizing opportunities for growth within client organizations. Your strong analytical skills enable you to interpret data and trends, translating them into actionable insights and strategies. You're a natural communicator, capable of engaging effectively with a variety of stakeholders, from operational teams to high-level decision-makers.

In your toolkit, you have a rich blend of experience in rolling out SaaS solutions, managing contract changes, and driving the adoption of new features and services. You are comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, adapting quickly to the evolving needs of both brightwheel and your clients. As a collaborative team player, you work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, ensuring that client needs are met and that brightwheel’s offerings are continuously aligned with their objectives.

Your approach is proactive and consultative; you're not just responding to client needs, but anticipating them, always thinking a few steps ahead to ensure both client satisfaction and the expansion of brightwheel’s presence within their organizations. You are passionate about the impact of brightwheel’s solutions and are committed to making a difference in the world of educational technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Strategic Growth and Retention:

  • Engage in deep, strategic discussions with key stakeholders in client organizations to thoroughly understand their objectives, challenges, and future plans.

  • Develop tailored strategies focused on both maintaining client retention and expanding brightwheel's presence within each organization.

  • Collaborate closely with clients to precisely define and regularly revisit what success looks like for them, using this as a foundation to identify and pursue expansion opportunities.

  • Work in tandem with cross-functional teams to ensure client requirements are met, encouraging the adoption of additional features and services where appropriate.

  • Utilize client usage data to discern trends, pinpoint growth opportunities, and identify areas in need of improvement.

  • Conduct regular reviews of client accounts to confirm ongoing satisfaction and proactively tackle any issues that might influence renewal decisions.

  • Strategize and Onboard: 

  • Develop comprehensive rollout plans for new Government-funded and some Enterprise clients, focusing on both core SaaS and Billing features. You will play a key role in crafting strategies that align with client goals, ensuring a smooth and effective onboarding process.

  • Be the Go-To Contact: 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for your assigned portfolio of clients. You'll be responsible for understanding their unique needs and maintaining strong, strategic relationships.

  • Systems and Processes Creation: 

  • Assist in developing effective systems, processes, and content specifically designed to enhance success for Enterprise and Government clients.

Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities

  • 3+ years customer-facing experience 

  • Account Management, Sales, and/or Onboarding experience required

  • Enterprise and/or Government experience preferred

  • Fast learner and ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Attention-to-detail and autonomous

  • Strong communicator and ability to manage stakeholders

$80,000 - $80,000 a year

Brightwheel is committed to internal pay equity and offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, equity, and benefits. In addition, our benefits package includes premium medical, dental, and vision benefits, generous paid parental leave, a flexible paid time off policy, a monthly wellness and productivity stipend, and a Learning & Development stipend.

For cash compensation, brightwheel sets standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. In addition to equity, our annual cash compensation for this role in all US-based locations is an overall on-target earnings of $100,000 yearly. There is an annual salary of $80,000 USD with an additional variable of $20,000. Lastly, we include a competitive, uncapped commission plan.
