Meet the Team: Prospecting, Flywheel

The Flywheel product group supports HubSpot’s internal customer-facing teams by building high-impact tools that enhance productivity, amplify outcomes, and help HubSpot itself run on HubSpot. This new team within Flywheel is focused on expansion within our existing customer base — helping customers grow by surfacing timely, intelligent opportunities for deeper product adoption.

We’re building a prospecting platform that acts as a one-stop shop for reps to uncover opportunities within our install base, powered by AI-driven insights and rich customer usage data. This is a greenfield team with a strong product mission, high visibility, and huge upside for both internal and external value.

What’s the day-to-day like?

  • Leading the technical vision, roadmap, and delivery for a new product team

  • Collaborating closely with a PM and Designer in a triad model

  • Supporting both frontend and backend engineers — primarily backend-leaning, but leading across the stack

  • Partnering with data scientists and AI teams to surface intelligence into user workflows

  • Guiding architectural decisions and evolving product direction based on early feedback

  • Mentoring engineers and fostering a strong, inclusive team culture

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Are a strong backend engineer with Java experience and tech lead experience 

  • Have experience working with or interest in AI/ML-driven products

  • Thrive in greenfield or early-stage product environments

  • Love working with data to drive product insights and outcomes

  • Are a clear communicator who leads with context and empathy

  • Are excited about building systems that can scale from internal tools to customer-facing features
