Job Description

This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of an office [Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford or Mountain View], you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.

The Role The Marketing Applied Sciences team is responsible for developing analytics-driven solutions to help GM Organizations achieve their business goals.

The Performance Strategist will support GM Corporate Brands marketing teams by delivering cross-channel performance marketing analytics, uncovering actionable insights, and contributing to ongoing campaign optimization efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on with data, highly collaborative, and skilled at connecting metrics to marketing impact. Working closely with brand partners and analytics leads, you will help measure and improve marketing effectiveness across media, audience, and site performance.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in media analytics, a passion for solving business problems with data, and the ability to clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. What You'll Do

  • Serve as a strategic partner to Brand Marketing, gaining a deep understanding of the business, marketing goals, and underlying questions to inform data-driven decision-making

  • Deliver end-to-end campaign performance analyses by connecting paid media, site engagement, and audience strategy into a cohesive narrative

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to interpret data and deliver actionable recommendations

  • Lead performance marketing reviews with insights, metrics, and optimization ideas

  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure accurate, timely delivery of measurement work

  • Help translate technical findings into clear summaries for brand and agency partners 

  • Partner with the data visualization team to shape reporting dashboard views and automate reoccurring reports

  • Monitor marketing performance trends and flag opportunities for testing or improvement

  • Stay current on evolving tools, media channels, and analytics techniques relevant to performance marketing

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Statistics, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in media/performance marketing analytics or a related role

  • Deep understanding of media performance KPIs, attribution concepts, and audience targeting

  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI

  • Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail and a bias toward action

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive or consumer product marketing

  • Exposure to tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, or media buying platforms

  • Working knowledge of campaign optimization or audience segmentation strategies

This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate. 

Compensation: 

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: $85,100- $143,300. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. 

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
