Within the Content & Credentials org, the Teaching & Learning team brings together learning design experts and researchers who provide best practices, training, and consulting for content development. We work closely with partners and content creators to design transformational learning experiences, using research, experimentation, and data insights to improve learner satisfaction, engagement, and outcomes.
About the Role:
The Sr. Manager, Learning Design & Analytics, is a full-time, India-based role responsible for leading Coursera’s Learning Design & Analytics team, a group of experts dedicated to designing, prototyping, producing, and measuring the impact of innovative, scalable learning experiences. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Coursera’s global learning content meets the highest pedagogical standards, while driving operational excellence and innovation across our design models and APAC partnerships.
To achieve this, you’ll oversee a team of learning designers and learning analysts focused on delivering high-quality content through Coursera’s partners, production vendors, and internal development initiatives. You will set strategic direction, define team goals, and establish efficient processes that enable the creation of scalable content models and learning analytics systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team: Hire, coach, and empower a team of learning designers to deliver innovative, scalable learning experiences that reflect Coursera’s commitment to high-quality education for all.
Establish Learning Design Excellence: Define clear goals, standards, and workflows that drive consistency, efficiency, and pedagogical rigor across Coursera’s content ecosystem.
Collaborate Across Teams and Regions: Partner with Teaching & Learning, Partner Enablement, Product, and Content Optimization teams to align design initiatives with learner impact and organizational goals.
Drive Innovation in Learning Design: Lead experimentation with new content models, technologies, and design approaches to enhance engagement and scalability across APAC and global audiences.
Use Data to Inform and Improve: Leverage performance metrics and learner insights to guide design decisions, measure success, and continuously improve content quality.
Foster an Inclusive and Collaborative Culture: Build a team environment that values creativity, open feedback, and professional growth—helping every designer do their best work in service of Coursera’s mission.
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, curriculum development, or a related field.
4+ years of experience managing or leading design teams, with a proven ability to develop talent and foster collaboration.
Strong understanding of learning theory, instructional design models, and best practices for online learning.
Experience working with higher education institutions, industry partners, and/or subject matter experts in online course design.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Education, Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, or a related field.
Familiarity with Coursera’s platform, learning analytics, and data-driven optimization practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead innovation in instructional design, leveraging emerging technologies and scalable content models.
Demonstrated success in managing complex projects from concept to delivery, including vendor and stakeholder coordination.
Experience working cross-functionally in a global organization.
