In this pivotal role, you will serve as a strategic thought partner, connecting the broader financial ecosystem and revenue performance to the product and engineering initiatives within Pinterest's Ads organization. You will leverage data to unlock strategic opportunities and drive impactful business decisions.

What you'll do:

  • Drive Strategic Business Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses to answer critical 'why' and 'how' questions related to ads performance and financial outcomes. This includes assessing complex trade-offs between various metrics and evaluating the holistic impact of changes across the ads ecosystem.

  • Lead Opportunity Sizing & Investment Insights: Identify and quantify strategic opportunities for growth and investment within the ads business. For example, you might analyze the financial implications of adjusting programmatic ad load or explore new monetization avenues. Your analyses will provide clear, actionable recommendations that directly influence product and business strategy.

  • Connect Financial & Product Performance: Collaborate closely with Finance, BizOps, and Strategy teams to bridge the gap between revenue performance and product actions. You'll work to integrate financial narratives with product performance metrics, providing a comprehensive view of business health and growth drivers.

  • Inform Strategic Measurement & Experimentation: Advise on the design of robust measurement strategies and best practices for experimentation, ensuring that insights derived from tests are strategically sound and directly applicable to business goals. You'll focus on the strategic interpretation of results to guide future investments.

  • Define & Track Key Success Metrics: Partner with product and engineering teams to identify and define the most impactful high-level success metrics. You will break down complex metrics into actionable components, enabling teams to understand their contribution to the overall business and financial picture.

  • Communicate for Impact: Translate complex data findings and strategic insights into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical senior stakeholders, influencing critical business decisions and strategic direction.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience in strategic data analysis, business intelligence, or product analytics roles.

  • Strong business and product acumen with a proven ability to connect data insights directly to financial outcomes and strategic decision-making.

  • Good understanding of the ads ecosystem, monetization mechanics, and/or real-time bidding, with a keen interest in the financial aspects of these domains.

  • Solid fundamentals in statistics and experimentation, with the ability to interpret and apply causal inference techniques to strategic problems.

  • Proven ability to structure ambiguous business challenges into clear, actionable analytical frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, capable of influencing diverse audiences, including senior leadership.

  • Proficiency in SQL or Python for data analysis and manipulation.
