Solutions Architect (Managed Services)

Overview

We are seeking qualified Solutions Architects to help deliver our Elastic Operations service from our Managed Services team in Bangalore, India, as we continue our rapid growth with an expansion of our Indian subsidiary, phData Solutions Private Limited. This expansion comes at the right time with increasing customer demand for data and platform solutions.  This is a senior-level, hands-on technical subject matter expert position. Hence, only experienced candidates with a deep passion for understanding and designing complex data solutions must apply. 

As a Solutions Architect on our Managed Services team, you will be responsible for delivering on Cloudera projects, and in parallel, upskilling to deliver large-scale, complex data platform and infrastructure projects running on Snowflake and other native cloud platform services in AWS and Azure. Additionally, you will need the ability to learn and quickly upskill in data ecosystem technologies related to data ingestion, data migration, platform design, and architecture, with some exposure to data visualization. 

The platforms and infrastructure you're operating will vary. It will range from distributed data platforms like Cloudera, to open source tools, to custom applications and data pipelines built on top of the platform. 

Required Experience:

• Production experience with big data & ML technologies (e.g. Spark, Impala, S3, Kudu, Streamsets, NiFi, ElasticSearch, Cloudera, Databricks, Snowflake, Dataiku)

• Cloudera Administration: managing and monitoring distributed systems and middleware application performance; recommending, configuring, and optimizing the Hadoop ecosystem.

• Working experience with both CDP public and Private cloud.

• Authentication and Authorisation, including LDAP, Active Directory, and Kerberos (KDC) administration, as well as Ranger

• Hadoop security; LDAP, Active Directory, and Kerberos (KDC) administration

• Data encryption, specifically HDFS transparent data encryption, Cloudera Navigator Encrypt, TLS, and digital certificates

• Perform platform installation and upgrades for advanced secured cluster configurations

• Write and produce technical documentation and knowledge base articles

• Determine and select the best tools to ensure optimised data performance; perform Data Analysis utilising Spark, Hive, and Impala

• Strong working knowledge of SQL and the ability to write, debug, and optimise SQL queries.

• Deep expertise with cloud-native data technologies in AWS or Azure. 

• Mentor and coach developers and data engineers. Guide with project creation, application structure, automation, code style, testing, and code reviews

• Follow ITIL processes and enforce ITIL guidelines within the team

• Create and deliver detailed technical presentations for an executive audience. 

• Excellent client-facing written and verbal communication skills, with relevant experience.

Preferred Experience: 

• Proven expertise using Python to build automated solutions for repetitive support tasks.

• Deep expertise with cloud-native data technologies in AWS or Azure.

• Production support of enterprise cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or Databricks.

• Production experience working with Data integration technologies such as Spark, Kafka, event/streaming, Fivetran, HVR, NiFi, AWS Data Migration Services, Azure Data Factory, or others.
