Position summary
Position type: Hourly, Full-time
Contract type: 1099 Independent contractor
Location: Remote (U.S.based)
Contract duration: 9/2/2025 - 12/26/2025 with possibility to extend
Reports to: Haiyan Sui
Start date: 9/2/2025/ ASAP
Nava is hiring a self-directed consultant to support a government service by designing and delivering engineering solutions on a contract basis.
What you'll do
Configure and customize web applications
Build devops tools and processesImplement system integrations
Build workflow automation to increase productivity
Ensure data security and compliance with privacy regulations
Required skills
10+ years’ experience with software development
Proficient with Node.js and Python
Experience with designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and IaC
Ability to translate requirements into technical solutions that can scale and be maintained
Self-starter, adaptability, clear communication
Either based in the Pacific time zone or able to align working hours with Pacific time zone
$110 - $120 an hour
Please note: Consultants/Contractors are not eligible for Nava benefits unless hired in a full time capacity.
Not considering C2C or agency referrals
Other requirements
All roles at Nava require the following:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired.
Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
May be subject to a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract.

We have fully remote full time options if you reside in one of the following states:
Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin.
