Software Engineer - Integration Platform
About the Role:
The Defense and Intelligence pod is looking for a full-stack software engineer who will be responsible for building systems and integrating with our federal customers. In this role, you will work with multiple internal teams to build our next generation integration platform that will drive our next decade of growth. Your work will be highly visible and will directly impact the ability of customers to get faster access to Planet’s unprecedented datasets as well as streamline the internal processes for adding new customers to our platform. The ideal candidate would have full-stack experience, with experience owning frontend on a project. This role will appeal to candidates with a positive attitude with excitement about Planet’s mission.
This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States. If located near an office, you are expected to work from that office 3 days per week.
Impact You'll Own:
Build and maintain integration tools which serve our enterprise and federal customers
Manage architecture and ensure availability of services
Fortify our deployment pipeline and production service monitoring capabilities
Help to define, create and analyze usage metrics to drive customer growth
Participate in team on-call rotation to support production services
What You Bring:
4+ years industry experience
Expertise developing in Go or Python
Full stack application development experience (Database, Services, Web)
Experience building orchestration workflows preferably with Temporal (temporal.io)
Experience owning and transforming modern front end codebases
Fluency in Golang, Python, Postgresql, & React or related technologies
Proven cross-functional collaboration skills (Product & Design)
Experience scaling and maintaining production systems

Compensation:
The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
New York City + California Salary Range
$136,000—$170,000 USD
San Francisco Salary Range
$144,500—$180,600 USD
US National Salary Range
$127,000—$158,700 USD
