Role Description

As a Software Development Engineer in Test at Dropbox, you will play a crucial role in shaping the quality engineering landscape of our core products. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a strategic approach to software quality. You will be instrumental in defining and maintaining high standards for testing and automation at Dropbox, ensuring our products meet the highest reliability and user satisfaction levels.

Dropbox Core Engineering has a new initiative to improve developer productivity and product quality. We are looking for an SDET to help our team build products effortlessly. You will be a foundational member of the newly formed SDET team, that will own and deliver key automation frameworks and testing strategies that enable seamless, scalable, and user-friendly experiences. Your contributions will help define quality and track metrics that ensure high trust, speed, availability, and security in our products.

Responsibilities

  • Implement robust, scalable, high-quality test automation solutions, enhancing best-in-class frameworks

  • Deliver ongoing business impact through ownership of product capabilities or technical systems.

  • Implement of Test Strategies, Test processes, and Quality Metrics that demonstrate impact.

  • Collaborate closely with developers, product management, and cross-functional agile teams to ensure full test coverage.

  • Identify and communicate risks about our releases, ensuring our products deliver value to our customers beyond the immediate area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4+ years of engineering experience with 2+ years in building automation frameworks.

  • Extensive experience developing test automation for software applications.

  • Expertise with Playwright, Selenium, and other end-to-end test automation frameworks.

  • Experience in frontend (TypeScript, React) and backend (Python, Node.js) development testing strategies.

  • Experience developing and maintaining continuous integration and test pipeline tools (e.g., Docker, Jenkins).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building on multiple platforms (Web, Desktop, Mobile, and API).

  • Experience collaborating on technical strategy and cross-team initiatives.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, deep engagement in product development, and a constant focus on customer experience.

Compensation

Through our assessment process, we will identify your level that ties to compensation based on your experience and technical expertise along with the scope of the role. 

Dropbox applies increased tax deductible costs to remuneration earned by certain qualifying employees (to the extent an employee will be involved in the creation of the software as an “author”) for the transfer of copyrights, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Income Tax Act.

If you are assessed at the IC2 level, below are the current Salary/OTE ranges (Subject to change):

200,600 zł — 271,400 zł PLN

If you are assessed at the IC3 level, below are the current Salary/OTE ranges (Subject to change):

256,700 zł- — 347,300 zł PLN
