About This Role:

iRhythm is currently seeking an experienced, results-oriented Sr. Technical Project Manager within the Product Development (PD) team. In this role you will have the opportunity to define and drive the delivery of medical device projects for our core products. You will be exposed to a diverse set of projects involving product development, design transfer, launch excellence and collaborate closely with a cross-disciplinary team of talented and passionate engineers, product managers, engineering leaders, quality assurance and regulatory to sustain our current product portfolio and launch new iterations to our products. In this dynamic environment you will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills and leadership competencies in the MedTech and wearable device industry while advancing your career. Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates directly with technical resources within the Product Development and manufacturing teams including stakeholders from several support functions to assemble bottom’s up schedules, establishing key project goals, milestones, and metrics for measuring success.

  • Ensures timely and efficient execution of both large- and small-scale technical programs through development of project timelines, tracking of major milestones and management of key dependencies, critical paths and risk register.

  • Ensures adherence to the appropriate design controls and Product Development processes throughout program execution

  • Facilitate and participate in technical discussions within R&D and cross-functional teams

  • Initiates proactive discussions with stakeholders to align on expectations and dependencies while fostering trusting and professional working relationships

  • Oversees program execution inclusive of post development activities including, but not limited to design transfer, E2E business continuity and launch readiness as necessary

  • Assembles and reports program metrics and communicates program status and deliverables for project teams

  • Supports multi-disciplinary engineering teams and cross-functional partners in project management needs as required.

  • Identifies opportunities for efficiency in work streams and communication across internal and adjacent functions such as manufacturing, quality, regulatory and supply chain

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, Software) or related technical field required

  • Master’s degree, M.B.A. or P.M.P. certification a strong plus

  • 3+ years of experience leading development projects, ideally with a demonstrated record of transferring design changes to manufacturing and taking new products from development to commercialization.

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a professional environment, requiring extensive cross-functional collaboration.

  • Proven ability to influence without authority, enabling coordination and alignment of matrixed resources.

  • Strong project management skills including budgeting, planning, tracking, organization, attention to detail, managing competing priorities, analytical and critical thinking, and sound engineering fundamentals

  • Strong technical abilities, grounded in ethics and sound decision-making processes.

  • Experience with technical product development teams and design transfer processes with embedded systems - medical device experience is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling strong alignment with internal / external partners and can navigate conflict constructively. 

  • Effective communication and presentation abilities, with demonstrated ability to synthesize information clearly and convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Software/tools: Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project and Atlassian tools (JIRA, confluence).

  • Travel - 5-10% (Manufacturing sites, team meetings/offsites)
