If you are looking to be a part of an amazing team, have a passion for open-source software, and building a strong developer community, then come join us! Temporal helps developers focus on the important things, like writing business logic, and spend less time worrying about the underlying infrastructure. We have a great open-source community filled with awesome developers (who are also our users!) that provide us with real-time feedback and contributions. Temporal is also backed by top VC firms and has a team of professionals from other successful start-ups and well-known technology companies. We always work toward building the best community, and if these things interest you too, we’d love to hear from you.

The Temporal Developer Education team helps developers build resilient applications using Temporal's SDKs through tutorials, courses, and workshops delivered through a variety of teaching methods. Our content makes it possible for developers to build mission-critical products with Temporal at the core.

What you'll be doing

- You'll use your experience as a software developer and educator to design and deliver practical, hands-on courses, tutorials, - documentation, workshops, certifications, and example applications that empower software developers to use Temporal in their applications.

- You’ll create, edit, integrate, and curate content in multiple formats (including written, video, animations, audio, and example code repositories) that focuses on active learning and meets the needs of a diverse learner community.

- You'll collaborate with subject matter experts to identify skills, knowledge, and attitudes required for success with Temporal, and develop real-world assessments that ensure learners can demonstrate their proficiency.

- You'll build strong relationships with people internally and externally. You'll collaborate with other content creators to ensure curriculum development and instructional design align with the organization's goals and strategies, and you'll engage our community of learners through instruction and active participation in our community spaces.

- You’ll maintain and refine existing content to reflect changes to the product and feedback from training sessions, surveys, and collected metrics.

- You'll identify, research, and recommend new tools or instructional design strategies to address skills, knowledge gaps, and future needs.

What you'll bring to the role

- You've developed modern production back-end applications with Go, TypeScript, Java, or Python using industry best practices.

- You have experience with cloud computing, distributed systems, or microservices and are comfortable explaining these concepts to senior software developers.

- You've designed, delivered, and refined practical, hands-on courses or content on software development topics aimed at senior-level software developers.

- You've created content using a variety of formats to reach a diverse audience of learners, and know when to use which format appropriately.

- You’re just as comfortable integrating the work of others as you are creating your own content, and you know how to use multiple tools and sources to deliver quality content.

- You've facilitated workshops or classes in online, blended, or in-person environments.

- You're comfortable and excited to learn new technologies and programming languages.

- You have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
