Senior Support Engineer II
Job Summary
We're looking for a Senior Support Engineer II to be part of the RDBA - Technical Support team. You will be a part of a global team that is supporting our clients. You will be responsible for maintaining and managing client’s Postgres databases, partnering closely with our client's in-house DBA's team by providing guidance, support and execution following best practices.
The EDB Database Administration team delivers a 24/7 service to clients while observing industry-standard security policies and tools. You will work on a variety of OS platforms, versions of Postgres and high availability solutions while building a plan of action to prevent outages.
**Candidate Note: This role is 100% remote.
What your impact will be:
Understanding operational requirements including hardware, architecting, configuring, integrating, and maintaining mission-critical Production PostgreSQL databases
Conducting all backup recovery and PITR replicating
Upgrading, migrating, and tuning PostgreSQL database version
Developing database automation scripts and maintaining them
Providing technical guidance for integration testing, and planning of new production databases
Improving and creating DBA policies, procedures and standards
What you will bring:
3-5 years of strong experience as DBA/PostgreSQL DBA
1 + Years of working with cloud/virtualization technologies
Experience in monitoring, managing and maintaining mission-critical 24/7 production databases
Hands-on experience on shell scripting
Awesome communication skills
SQL query tuning hands-on experience
Experience on community-supported tools like Pgbadger, PGadmin, Pgpool, Pgbouncer
Strong communication in English
Flexibility to work in shifts and on weekends (if required)

Experience with machine learning and AI
2-3 years of experience with Kubernetes
