  • Participate actively in code reviews, backlog estimation, and story breakdown to uphold high coding standards

  • Document system designs, feature decisions, onboarding guides, and other critical technical knowledge

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvement and team-wide software quality

  • Tackle ambiguous projects and resolve architectural gaps in advance of development

  • Partner with Staff/Principal engineers to integrate improvements and maintain operational excellence

  • Participate quarterly in hiring or recruiting activities at or below your level

THE SKILL SET

  • 5+ years professional experience building backend systems with Python

  • Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices design, and event-driven architecture

  • Analytical skills to troubleshoot and debug complex data-centric issues

  • Experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), automated testing, and DevOps concepts

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions, bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Track record of high-quality documentation and maintainability

  • Experience mentoring peers and onboarding new team members

  • Proficient at objective, constructive code review and team collaboration

  • Proven ability to drive ongoing process improvements and raise software quality standards

BONUS POINTS

  • Production experience with OpenSearch, Snowflake, Kafka, DAG orchestration tools, and AWS Lambda functions

  • Knowledge of ML algorithms, integration of ML models, or data science workflows

  • Basic understanding of frontend technologies (especially React); ability to collaborate with frontend teams

  • Experience in regulated or high-scale SaaS environments

  • Familiarity with feature flag tools, experimentation platforms, or A/B testing best practices

  • Awareness of compliance, privacy, and cloud security best practices for backend systems
