An overview of this role

As the Senior Salesforce Manager, CRM Systems, you’ll lead the Salesforce CRM Systems team to design, build, and evolve the enterprise Salesforce platform that underpins GitLab’s sales, finance, and operations workflows. You’ll solve complex problems around quoting, pricing, order management, and data integrity across integrated systems like ERP, CRM, and billing platforms, ensuring our go-to-market teams can operate efficiently at scale. In this role, you’ll combine hands-on technical leadership with people management: mentoring Salesforce Developers, Administrators, and CPQ Engineers; setting development best practices; and driving major initiatives that keep our Salesforce ecosystem secure, reliable, and aligned with business strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with sales, finance, operations, product, and engineering teams, and you’ll be expected to stay current on Salesforce advancements, DevOps practices for Salesforce environments, and emerging AI capabilities to help GitLab get more value from both the Salesforce platform and internal AI solutions in your first year and beyond.

Some examples of our projects:

  • Optimizing Salesforce CPQ and order management flows to support complex pricing models and usage-based billing

  • Enhancing end-to-end sales operations workflows with automated, secure integrations between Salesforce and core business systems

What you’ll do

  • Lead and mentor a distributed team of Salesforce Developers, Administrators, and CPQ Engineers, providing clear direction, coaching, and support.

  • Manage team capacity planning, resource allocation, hiring, and onboarding to ensure the right skills are in place for current and upcoming initiatives.

  • Design, develop, test, and document scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex Classes, Triggers, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce Pages, Aura Components, and declarative tools.

  • Drive optimization of quoting, pricing, CPQ, and order management processes to support complex sales cycles and end-to-end sales operations workflows.

  • Maintain data integrity and reliability across Salesforce and integrated platforms, including ERP, CRM, billing, and other enterprise systems.

  • Partner with sales, finance, operations, product, and engineering teams (including information security, DevOps, and infrastructure) to translate business requirements into effective Salesforce solutions.

  • Implement and champion development best practices, test automation frameworks, and DevOps practices for Salesforce environments to ensure platform reliability, performance, and security.

  • Stay current with Salesforce platform advancements and emerging AI capabilities, and guide the team in adopting these technologies to drive productivity and innovation.

What you’ll bring

  • Advanced hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining Salesforce solutions, including Apex Classes, Triggers, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, declarative automation tools, and enterprise integrations

  • Background leading high-performing Salesforce development teams, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and creating individualized development plans

  • Proven ability to manage complex Salesforce programs and projects, including capacity planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and coordination across multiple initiatives

  • Experience architecting and optimizing Salesforce implementations that support complex pricing models, usage-based billing, CPQ, and integrations with ERP, CRM, billing, and other enterprise systems

  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks, modern web technologies, DevOps practices for Salesforce environments, and approaches to ensuring platform reliability, security, and data integrity

  • Demonstrated skill in partnering with sales, finance, operations, product, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions

  • Experience presenting technical designs and recommendations to executive stakeholders and facilitating clear, constructive communication across cross-functional, distributed teams

  • Interest in and exposure to AI integration and emerging Salesforce AI capabilities, with a willingness to adopt internal AI tools and learn new technologies; candidates with related or transferable backgrounds are encouraged to apply
