Apply for this position

At Mercury, we believe moving money should feel seamless, powerful, and even a little magical. Our Payments Group makes moving money with Mercury fast, reliable, and surprisingly delightful, powering every payment with the scale and systems our customers and teams can trust.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Wires product team whose charter includes domestic and international wires (in USD and foreign currencies) and real-time payments. The role spans both technical and customer-facing dimensions: from managing integrations with banking partners and processors to delivering clear, trustworthy experiences for users.

Partnering closely with engineering, design, operations, data, and our partnerships teams, your work will shape products that set a high bar for modern business payments: seamless to use, resilient under the hood, and trusted by thousands of customers.

*Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group, Column N.A., and Evolve Bank & Trust, Members FDIC.

What you’ll do

  • Own the wire domain: Lead the roadmap and execution for domestic and international wire payments, including delivery success, FX handling, and partner integrations.

  • Drive meaningful outcomes: Lead end-to-end execution of payments projects that improve speed, reliability, transparency, and user trust.

  • Simplify complexity: Identify and reduce friction in customer-facing flows, clarify what’s happening behind the scenes, and build systems businesses can count on.

  • Champion excellence: Advocate for thoughtful, high-quality payment experiences, and bring alignment across stakeholders.

  • Communicate clearly: Translate technical and regulatory nuance into product strategies and user-facing decisions that are easy to understand and trust.

What sets you up for success

We’re looking for a seasoned product manager with deep payments experience, and a strong sense of craft. You care about how things work and how they feel to use.

  • 7+ years of product management experience in payments.

  • Deep familiarity with domestic and international wire systems, including SWIFT, Fedwire, international rails, and partner banking APIs. Experience with Real-time Payments is a plus.

  • Proven ability to ship high-quality payment products grounded in customer needs.

  • Strategic thinker who operates effectively across infrastructure and experience layers, and who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to get things done.

  • Strong communicator and collaborator, able to influence across functions and levels of seniority.

  • Sharp eye for detail with a drive to craft polished, trustworthy, and intuitive customer experiences.

The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity, and benefits.

Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:

  • US employees (any location): $200,700 - $250,900 USD

  • Canadian employees (any location): CAD 189,700 - 237,100

We use Covey as part of our hiring and / or promotional process for jobs in NYC and certain features may qualify it as an AEDT. As part of the evaluation process we provide Covey with job requirements and candidate submitted applications. We began using Covey Scout for Inbound on January 22, 2024.
