Team Description:

This role is part of the Ads Measurement, Signals, and Privacy organization at Reddit.

Ads identity empowers Reddit’s ads delivery, targeting, and measurement products to better measure and increase ROAS by linking actions on and off Reddit to the person or people who took them while honoring their privacy preferences. This team collaborates regularly with stakeholders across all of Reddit’s product teams to set a long-term vision and maximize the value of the linkages we create. We are solving complex problems in an increasingly challenging environment of meeting stricter consumer privacy expectations.

Role description:

You will apply your strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills to go deep into the details of identity matching with software and machine learning engineers. You'll make decisions about what work to prioritize based on opportunity sizing and a clear vision for the long-term.

You will directly own execution of multi-team projects and be accountable for annual goals reported directly to our VPs.

This role provides an opportunity to massively improve a critical system for Reddit’s business in a relatively short time frame with a clear path to increased ownership and responsibility for broader end-to-end strategic ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver improvements to our identity system that quickly and significantly improve our ability to link events to people

  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap and collaborate with other ads product managers across the organization to set long-term strategy

  • Develop an expert-level understanding of the ads identity ecosystem through self-learning, data exploration, and market research

  • Create metrics and goals, in collaboration with data science, to incentivize models and the entire team to deliver maximum value

  • Partner closely with Data Science, Engineering, Legal, and Privacy teams that deliver sustainable system improvements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field

  • 2+ years as a product manager of a machine learning product or 5+ years as data scientist working with product teams

  • Experience delivering / partnering with product and cross functional teams to deliver complex and scaled projects

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in applied statistical analysis

  • A foundational understanding of the ads identity ecosystem

  • Experience directly driving execution across all aspects of product development cycle

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross functionally and without direct authority

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing SQL queries and exploring data independently

  • PhD or Masters in Probability, Statistics, or Behavioral Economics

  • 2+ years working on an ads product measuring or serving behavioral advertising

  • 2+ years setting goals for a product team

  • Experience building or sourcing ground truth data sets

  • Collaborate & Partner: Work closely with product management, partner management, and other engineering teams to ensure the Ads API meets the needs of both internal stakeholders and external developers.

Who You Are: You are a high-agency leader who doesn't wait for direction; you see what needs to be done and take the initiative to make it happen. You have a strong sense of ownership and are driven to find solutions, work through ambiguity and enjoy complex challenges.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer.

  • 2+ years managing (including coaching, mentoring, developing) engineering teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects from inception to completion, acting as the primary agent of change.

  • Proven experience designing, building, and operating scalable, public-facing APIs (e.g., REST, gRPC).

  • Experience with at least two general programming languages such as Python, Go, Scala, Java, or C++.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with product managers, data scientists, and other xfn stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing Infrastructure or Platform teams.

  • Experience in the advertising technology space.

  • Experience with API gateways, authentication/authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth), and rate limiting.
