Senior Marketer - Communications
POS-20514
What we're looking for:
At HubSpot, we’re continuing to build and shape our comms team for the AI era. For this role, we need a storyteller who can take complex concepts and write them with clarity—whether that's a pitch to a journalist or a post for our newsroom. You're interested in how communications is evolving and aren't afraid to take risks as we navigate the new world of comms in the AI era.
You're experimenting with AI tools to work smarter (not just faster). You understand that AI isn't going to replace good writing instincts, but it might help you get to that first draft or brainstorm twenty different angles on a story. You're already testing how AI can enhance your work in media monitoring, content creation, or something we haven't even thought of yet.
As Senior Marketer, Communications, you'll work on telling the HubSpot story across both corporate and product topics. This includes announcements, thought leadership, crisis response, and the moments when what we say really counts. You’ll also be instrumental in the team’s operations, keeping our lean team organized, up-to-date, and able to communicate our successes. You'll report to our Senior Director of Communications and help shape how millions of people understand what HubSpot does and why it matters.
What you'll actually do:
Write things people want to read. Press releases, blog posts, social content, talking points, scripts—you name it. If it represents HubSpot externally, you might write it.
Build real relationships with journalists. Not just 'add to list, send pitch, hope for the best' relationships. The kind where reporters actually reply to your emails.
Own parts of major initiatives. Like our annual INBOUND event and Spotlight product moments. Being ready to jump in on media relations, operations, and reporting.
Stay ready for anything. When a crisis hits or an issue emerges, you're calm, strategic, and know how to move fast without moving recklessly.
Keep our team organized and visible. Help track our wins, manage our metrics, and tell the story of our comms team's impact across the organization. You're the one who makes sure we can actually show what we've accomplished.
Support comms team processes. We are a lean team with a big scope. You will be instrumental in helping us keep key items like our newsroom, Asana, and documentation up-to-date.
Experiment and adapt. With all of the above, test new approaches, try AI tools, figure out what works (and share what doesn't).
What you bring:
5-7 years of corporate or B2B communications experience. You've done this before and have the media clips and stories to prove it.
Exceptional writing skills. You can translate complex topics into clear, engaging narratives. You know the difference between corporate speak and actual communication.
Media relationships and instincts. You know what makes a story, how to pitch it, and ideally have reporters who'll take your call.
Strong organizational skills. You can manage multiple projects, track metrics, and create systems that help the team work more effectively.
Public company experience is a plus. You understand the unique considerations that come with being publicly traded.
Genuine curiosity about AI. You're already experimenting with how AI tools can enhance communications work. You have opinions on what works and what's overhyped.
Comfort with ambiguity. You can figure things out without a playbook and aren't afraid to try something new.
Boldness with good judgment. You'll push for the interesting angle or the bolder approach, but you also know when to pull back.
What you won't find here:
We don't need someone who just executes what they're told. We need someone who has ideas, who'll challenge the status quo when it makes sense, and who genuinely cares about doing work that matters. If this describes you, let’s talk.
