We are looking for a Senior Director, Business Development with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our team as we seek to scale and grow.
The Senior Director, Business Development at 1021 Creative plays a vital role in identifying and qualifying potential clients globally, and ensuring 1021 Creative meets or exceeds its revenue targets. This is a global role that will collaborate closely with our regional teams across APAC, EMEA, and the Americas to pursue new business opportunities and drive growth. This position requires a creative and proactive approach to generating leads, understanding client needs, and establishing connections.
What you will do:
Sales and Lead Generation
Utilize various channels such as your existing network, online research, social media, and industry events to identify potential clients that align with 1021 Creative’s expertise
Conduct thorough research to understand the needs and requirements of prospective clients particularly across media, market research, and B2B2C tech platforms in key markets
Initiate contact with potential clients through outbound calls, emails, and other communication channels
Qualify leads by understanding their unique needs, timelines, and budget constraints.
Clearly articulate the unique value propositions and creative solutions offered by 1021 Creative
Willingness to travel as needed for client and internal meetings
Relationship Building
Build and maintain relationships with potential clients across regions, understanding their evolving needs and preferences
Act as a brand ambassador for 1021 Creative, conveying a deep understanding of our capabilities and culture in global contexts
Database Management
Maintain a comprehensive and organized database of leads, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information
Categorize leads based on potential project size, industry, region, and other relevant criteria
Strategic Planning
With direction from our CEO, execute 1021 Creative’s global business development strategy to drive revenue growth and expand the company's market presence
Conduct thorough market research to identify potential business opportunities, market trends, and competitor activities
Analyze industry dynamics to recommend adjustments to the business development strategy
Proposal Development
Assist in the creation of compelling and competitive proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and company capabilities
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with other departments such as marketing and finance to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives
Work closely with the marketing and editorial teams to develop sales materials, prioritizing insightful research to engage prospects
Required Skills/Experience:
Extensive experience in a sales capacity within the media, editorial, or market research industries with proven success selling agency services
Professional client-facing skills and demonstrated understanding of client businesses and needs
Proactive and results-oriented with a focus on achieving measurable business growth
Proven experience in global sales leadership, including leading small teams in key markets such as APAC, EMEA, and India
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to understand and convey the unique value proposition of 1021 Creative
Familiarity with CRM tools and lead management systems
Experience leading conversations with clients and balancing the needs of the company and the client
Passion for all things trending and pop culture
Experience working remotely and within multicultural teams
Preferred Qualifications
Bring an existing book of business and network of connections within the media and/or B2B2C tech industry
Job Type: Full-time
Annual Salary: $120,000 - 150,000 USD + commission
Location Requirements: While we operate as a remote-first organization, at this time, we are only able to consider applicants who are based in the United States for this position.
Remote requirements: We’re proud to provide a remote work environment that allows employees the ability to reduce their commute and operate within a comfortable home environment. Please be aware that due to legal requirements and the sensitivity of the material we handle for our clients, this position requires that you be able to work a consistent schedule from a location (home office, coworking space, etc.) within your home state or locality.
