Senior Data Analyst
Scopely is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join the Tripeaks team within our MAX Division, working hybrid from one of our US hubs, or remotely within the US or Canada or North/South America.

What You Will Do
As a Senior Data Analyst, your goal will be to learn our tables, our game, our funnels, our current critical metrics and use situational awareness to ensure that your analyses make sense and help the team to learn & understand key players behaviors. You’ll use problem-solving skills, sound logic, and data tools to identify and evaluate trends, determine real value of team initiatives, and communicate results clearly.
Work with product, live ops, game design, engineering, marketing, DBAs and other teams to deliver actionable insights into our games in order to improve our user acquisition, engagement and monetization, including crafting and updating SQL/Bigquery/Python queries and Looker/Excel/Google Sheet dashboards
Design and implement new analytics events and queries for new game features, game events and player offers, to make sure the team gets the information they need to evaluate and improve the game
Design, implement, organize and analyze sophisticated statistical testing for specific problem-solving needs (e.g. A/B testing)
Identify problems, anomalies, trends, issues, and opportunities, by looking at the data and coming to your own conclusions
Answer business-related questions through exploratory data analyses and ad-hoc reporting
Participate in data retention management processes, including defining and updating retention policies and creating/updating tables to optimize data analysis workflow and cost
What We’re Looking For
BS or MS in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Finance, Statistics or Computer Science, or similar
Demonstrated ability as a data or financial Analyst applying statistical analysis to B2C consumer behaviors (mobile apps, advertising, market activities)
Outstanding problem-solving skills, including the ability to:
analyze situations and figure out the best metrics for a situation
conceptualize player behaviors based on data
identify relevant proxies of player behaviors where data do not exist
Good work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and strive to complete projects
Experience using SQL, including sophisticated queries from multiple data sources
Experience crafting, operating and analyzing multiple simultaneous A/B tests
Good communication and presentation skills, including extensive use of chart and table tools
Ability to understand & act on changing priorities, and complete multiple competing projects based on business need and anticipated impact
Familiarity with data and BI presentation tools (Looker, Tableau, Excel, pivot tables)
Strong English language skills are required for this role as we have a highly diverse and global business
Bonus Points
2+ years experience working in social/casual/casino games, e-commerce or consumer entertainment
Experience with Python or other programming language
A passion for playing world class mobile, social and casual games
For candidates in British Columbia, the annual salary range is provided below. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for equity, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
British Columbia Annual Salary Range
$104,000—$154,000 CAD
