Senior Data Analyst
This position is a 30-hour-per-week contract role with an initial term of 3 months, with the potential to extend for an additional 6-9 months based on business needs.
Summary
The contract Senior Data Analyst is a role that serves as both a key contributor to Loyal’s reporting efforts and the team’s go-to expert in data visualization.
You’ll be responsible for both maintaining and evolving Loyal’s external reporting function—delivering timely, accurate reports while rethinking how data is structured, visualized, and shared to create greater value for customers.
This role includes automating workflows, prioritizing ad hoc customer reporting requests, and supporting in-app dashboard design. You’ll ensure current reporting processes run smoothly while identifying opportunities to streamline, consolidate, or sunset reports, with the ultimate goal of reducing manual work and scaling insights.
The ideal candidate thrives on solving complex problems, has a sharp eye for what data truly matters, and is motivated by building efficient, scalable reporting and analytics systems.
You will
Maintain and improve Loyal’s existing external reporting processes and data dashboards
Support the definition and standardization of reporting metrics and data visualizations across all products
Maintain and evolve Power BI dashboards that provide clear insights to customer stakeholders
Deliver compelling visualizations that support business reviews, ROI models, and case studies
Evaluate customer reporting needs and identify patterns to inform scalable, repeatable solutions
Identify which reports should be templatized, embedded in-product, consolidated, or retired
Manage and prioritize ad hoc customer data requests with accuracy and efficiency
Automate recurring reports and workflows using Python and SQL to reduce manual effort
Analyze data to surface trends, risks, and actionable findings
Collaborate with Product and Design teams to improve the reporting experience inside Loyal’s platform
You have
Minimum of 5 years of Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, or related data visualization experience
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, or related quantitative discipline (statistics, operations research, engineering, economics, etc.) or equivalent work experience
Advanced SQL skills and experience working in Relational Databases
Expert-level Power BI skills with extensive experience building sophisticated automated dashboards, embedded visualizations, and data storytelling
Extensive experience building sophisticated automated dashboards, embedded visualizations, and data storytelling (Looker Studio, Power BI, etc.)
Proficient in Python, including API integration, pandas, and data manipulation required
Strong prioritization and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
Experience with database structures, query languages, and relationships between entities
Experience with G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
Proven experience transforming complex data into compelling visual stories and actionable business insights
Senior-level experience managing multiple reporting projects and stakeholder priorities simultaneously
Bonus Points:
Experience in healthcare technology and familiarity with AI-driven platforms preferred
Advanced degree in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or related field
Experience working within a software as a service (SaaS) company
Experience working within a start-up and/or ambiguous environment, with proven experience to be adaptable
Experience with Power BI and additional data visualization tools (Tableau, Google Data Studio, etc.)
Physical Demands
This role operates in a professional remote or in-office environment. This role uses standard office equipment, such as computers and phones. This role is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee has the flexibility to move as needed. This role constantly operates a computer, phone, keyboard, mouse, and other office productivity machinery. This role frequently communicates with internal and/or external customers and co-workers. Must be able to exchange accurate information. Must be able to recognize objects from short and long distances.
