The team
At Kraken, data is both a strategic asset and the foundation of trust with our users, partners, and stakeholders. We’re hiring a Senior Data Analyst to join our Compliance Enterprise Client Data Office team remotely in the US and Canada!
The #1 goal of this role is to build and enhance compliance dashboarding, analytics, and insights — ensuring full visibility into compliance at all times. You’ll work closely with senior leaders across Compliance, Regulatory, and Risk to support regulatory reporting and data requests, while creating scalable frameworks that power Kraken’s growth. You’ll also automate processes and workflows to boost efficiency and minimize human error.
In this role, you’ll own end-to-end data management: from building and maintaining datasets and pipelines to designing dashboards and insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. Since Regulatory Reporting—our highest-risk function—sits at the core of our compliance posture and regulator relationships, you’ll also architect automated, audit-ready reports with precise data models that strengthen our compliance framework. By translating regulatory and business requests into accurate reports, you’ll uncover patterns, insights, and root causes and translate them into clear, actionable outputs.
We’re looking for someone who combines exceptional data analysis expertise, solid knowledge of compliance regulations with keen business-risk acumen, harnessing rigorous critical thinking, creative problem-solving. If you can turn compliance data into actionable insights and have the drive to shape the future of crypto with a top-tier brand, this is your next mission!
The opportunity
Automate compliance solutions, governance controls, and data remediations to boost efficiency and minimize manual intervention.
Own the design of dashboards, compliance metrics, and regulatory reports — turning data into actionable insights for stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and regional compliance officers.
Build client data dashboards for Executive Leadership, providing insights into client trends, KPIs, demographics, and potential growth opportunities.
Translate regulatory and business requests into accurate, audit-ready reports and automated data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Airflow.
Develop and maintain high-quality data sources in partnership with Data and Engineering teams.
Coordinate client data quality monitoring by identifying issues, flagging remediations, and partnering with responsible teams to ensure timely resolution and validation.
Support ad-hoc data requests for audits, exams, risk assessments, and day-to-day business needs.
Develop ad-hoc tactical compliance solutions that enable Product Development and Engineering teams to focus on long-term solutions.
Provide cross-functional support during peak periods (requirements definition, backlog management, QA triage) to maintain delivery timelines.
Skills you should HODL
5+ years in data analysis and management, turning complex requirements into scalable solutions and dashboards.
3+ years of experience in compliance and regulatory reporting, with end-to-end ownership of compliance data management.
Expert in SQL, database design, and large-scale query optimization, with high proficiency in scripting languages and database concepts.
Expert in Python for data analysis, automation, and building scalable applications, with high proficiency in libraries, frameworks, and scripting for complex workflows.
Highly proficient with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., QuickSight, Power BI, Superset, Hex) to build executive-facing dashboards.
Experience using compliance and investigation tools (e.g., Hummingbird, Moody’s RDC, Chainalysis, Elliptic) to support regulatory reporting, monitoring, and risk analysis.
Clear, confident communicator with the ability to contextualize data insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-native environment while managing multiple priorities.
Alignment with the cypherpunk, libertarian values outlined in Kraken’s Tentaclements.
Nice to Haves
Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
Knowledge of AML/FCC, Sanctions, KYC, MiCA, MiFID, or Data Governance regulations.
Passionate about crypto with deep knowledge of emerging trends and tokens beyond blue chips
This job is accepting ongoing applications and there is no application deadline.
Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.
We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives. We hire strictly based on merit, meaning we seek out the candidates with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills considered the most suitable for the job.
