Proof of work

The team

Kraken is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Analyst to join our Compliance Enterprise Client Data Office team. You’ll be at the front lines of our data-driven compliance strategy, helping to architect regulatory reporting pipelines, support audit-readiness, and enhance Kraken’s client data governance program — all while ensuring every insight meets our uncompromising security and accuracy standards.

This role demands a rare blend of technical fluency, risk awareness, and business context. You’ll partner across Risk, Compliance, Engineering, and Product to design automation, remediate data issues, and bring transparency to complex regulatory requests. If you thrive in complexity, speak both “regulator” and “SQL,” and believe in the power of data to keep crypto compliant and thriving — this is your next mission.

The opportunity

  • Own end-to-end Compliance data management, including building and maintaining datasets, pipelines, dashboards, and reporting processes.

  • Translate regulatory and business requests into accurate, audit-ready reports and automated data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Airflow.

  • Develop dashboards and visualizations using tools like SuperSet, QuickSight, and Hex to communicate key Compliance metrics and client insights to internal stakeholders and leadership.

  • Automate tactical compliance solutions, governance controls, and data remediations to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Risk to meet audit, regulatory, and operational requirements.

  • Ensure data quality and consistency across all compliance reporting and client data touchpoints through robust validation and QC checks.

  • Promote a self-serve analytics culture by developing reusable assets and well-documented data layers.

  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a strong, security-conscious data culture within the Compliance org.

Skills you should HODL

  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis or data engineering, with 5+ years in compliance, regulatory reporting, or audit-facing roles.

  • Strong SQL and Python skills, with hands-on experience using tools like Airflow, AWS, Kubernetes, and modern data stacks.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into technical solutions and scalable data pipelines.

  • Experience working with BI tools (e.g., SuperSet, QuickSight, Hex) and building executive-facing dashboards and visualizations.

  • Familiarity with data governance platforms (e.g., Datahub), blockchain monitoring tools, and name screening systems like RDC or Hummingbird.

  • Clear, confident communicator with the ability to contextualize data insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-native environment while managing multiple priorities.

  • Degree in a technical or quantitative field preferred; interest in crypto or blockchain is a strong plus.
