🌎 About Us

At TeamSnap, we believe when the world connects through sports; the world becomes better. TeamSnap is a sports and communication platform dedicated to taking the work out of play in youth sports. We also believe our jobs should excite us, our teammates should support us and our bosses should inspire us. We empower our people to bring big ideas and tiny egos, landing us on Outside Magazine’s list of “Best Places to Work' and Built In’s “100 Best Remote-First Places to Work.'

We're seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to be a true partner to our business stakeholders. You'll work closely with teams across the organization to understand their data needs and build intuitive, well-modeled data assets that enable self-service analytics and decision-making.

At TeamSnap, we believe in data as a strategic asset. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our analytics capabilities while directly impacting our business success. If you're passionate about turning data into actionable insights and ready to help us transform our approach to business intelligence, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to deliver insights that directly impact company KPIs and help decision-making

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business metrics and data requirements, then model data to make those metrics easily accessible for self-service use

  • Design and build scalable, well-documented data marts in dbt to support analytics and reporting needs.

  • Build foundational data models that enable stakeholders to easily create their own dashboards and reports in Mode and other self-service tools

  • Support data democratization efforts by productionizing common data requests and enabling stakeholder self-service

  • Design user-friendly data models and semantic layers that abstract complexity and make data intuitive for non-technical stakeholders

  • Contribute to data quality initiatives across our data ecosystem that includes BigQuery, Hightouch, Amplitude, DBT, and Mode

  • Transform raw data into clean, well-structured datasets that empower product, marketing, and business teams to generate their own insights

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirements gathering sessions to understand business needs and translate them into data modeling solutions

  • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple data requests through Jira, balancing urgent ad-hoc stakeholder needs with long-term strategic initiatives

  • Mentor analysts and contribute to a collaborative, high-trust team culture.

What Will Set You Up for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics role

  • Expert-level SQL knowledge: experience with advanced querying and data transformation

  • Experience with DBT or similar transformation tools

  • Proficiency with data visualization platforms (Mode, Omni, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI or python-based visualization)

  • Experience with BigQuery or other cloud data warehouses (we are a GCP shop)

  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices

  • Experience with statistical analysis and A/B testing methodologies

  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to explore and understand complex data systems independently

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to navigate organizational dynamics effectively

  • Experience wrangling imperfect data sets

  • The ability to translate business requirements into intuitive data models that enable stakeholders to easily find and use the data they need

  • Proactive approach to understanding stakeholder needs and anticipating data modeling requirements based on business strategy and objectives

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and explain data concepts

  • Proven track record of collaborating with, and mentoring peer analysts and data scientists.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Amplitude or other product analytics tools

  • Knowledge of reverse ETL processes for injecting data into systems like Salesforce or marketing platforms

  • Familiarity with data quality monitoring and alerting

  • Experience working in an agile analytics environment

  • Experience with semantic layer tools and data cataloging

  • Prior experience in SaaS or consumer technology company

  • Passion for sports and experience with TeamSnap as a user
