The Motley Fool is seeking a seasoned Freelance Senior AI Developer focused on LLMs (Large Language Models, preferably OpenAI), NLP (Natural Language Processing) and machine learning. This role is pivotal in integrating OpenAI technologies across Fooldom – creating automated systems, utilizing company data for personalized content creation, and enhancing site-wide search, analytics and image identification functionalities. We’re looking to partner with talented, forward-thinking people, and open to varying levels of experience and availability. This role is flexible and 100% remote.

Who are we?

We are The Motley Fool, a purpose-driven financial information and services firm with more than 30 years of experience making the world smarter, happier, and richer. But what does that even mean?! The Motley Fool is firmly committed to diversity, inclusion, and equity. We are a motley group of overachievers that have built a culture of trust founded on Foolishness, fun, and a commitment to making the world smarter, happier and richer.  However you identify or whatever winding road has led you to us, please don't hesitate to apply if the description above leaves you thinking, 'Hey! I could do that!'

What does this team do?

  • Analyze the website’s technical infrastructure to identify integration requirements for REST APIs and AI technologies.

  • Plan, configure, and manage cloud-based resources, focusing on AI-driven enhancements for the website.

  • Develop frameworks to evaluate the efficacy of LLMs and drive continuous improvements in model quality.

  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to meet stringent data security and privacy standards.

  • Partner with various departments to implement AI-driven solutions, monitor their performance, and continuously refine them for better efficiency and user experience.

  • Strategize the deployment and migration of cloud-based AI architectures.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and share knowledge/best practices for OpenAI integration Fool-wide.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with Prompt Engineering and LLM fine-tuning methodologies.

  • Expertise in Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and foundational model toolsets.

  • Knowledge of DevOps (CI/CD) practices is beneficial.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Ability to effectively translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
