Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

Netflix is looking for an experienced QA Test Lead to join Spry Fox, a Netflix Game Studio, in delivering the next generation of video games to a worldwide audience. This role will report centrally to Netflix QA but will be fully embedded in Spry Fox and act as a member of that team, driving the highest-quality testing standards of our new games on our world-class platform.

As a test professional, your hands-on approach and innovative technical proficiency will have a significant impact on the oversight of multiple titles and in leading the QA effort for their releases. This role requires exceptional testing expertise, project management skills, and a deep understanding of a diverse consumer device universe with a specific focus on Android and iOS.

With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a real passion for a positive user experience, the ideal candidate will work with all of the teams involved in game development. This position requires the ability to lead a mix of internal and vendor QA staff assigned to your projects, meet business deadlines, and uphold the highest levels of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire QA process across multiple game projects, ensuring games release at the Netflix quality standard.

  • Communicate with developers, digest design documents, and be hands-on with the title to develop comprehensive plans and succinct test case suites.

  • Anticipate production and quality challenges and proactively work with the team to find solutions and mitigate disruptions to development.

  • Supervise and lead a team of QA testers, offering guidance, training, and support to drive their efficiency and productivity.

  • Investigate defects and issues using internal tools to provide debug information like callstacks, player profile states, and device performance data to improve bug fix turnaround time.

  • Triage player-reported, Live operations defects and funnel them into the internal tracking database for future milestone releases.

  • Approve and coordinate changelists and fixes per branch, trigger new builds for scheduled internal playtests, and finalize, package, and submit milestone release candidates to the Netflix Release Management team.

  • Document information provided by multiple departments to ensure the QA team is informed of all project changes on a consistent basis.

  • Interface with Compliance and Compatibility teams to coordinate full game passes on a structured cadence, taking into account the schedules of other internal studios.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience in Live Service & Mobile gaming QA

  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading test teams

  • Exceptional iOS/Android testing skills

  • Self-directed work ethic, providing consistent communication with the group while pursuing solutions where needed

  • Demonstrated experience in test planning for complex features/systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and expert knowledge of technical requirements, tools, and processes

  • Proven ability to work remotely and independently

  • Passion for games with a commitment to quality

Bonus Skills

  • Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master and/or Product Owner

  • Experience with Slack, Favro, TeamCity, Backtrace, and Discord

Location:

  • Remote, preference on North America-based, with the ability to work core hours of 10am - 2pm PM

Compensation:

  • Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.
