Your Role We are looking for a talented QA Automation Engineer to join our remote team and contribute to the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks. This role is open to remote candidates based in the European Union (a must for us). You will work closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and other QA team members to ensure the quality and reliability of our applications through automation.

As part of our team, you will help design, implement, and maintain robust test automation strategies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance software quality. You will be responsible for ensuring that automation is seamlessly integrated into our CI/CD pipelines and that our applications meet the highest quality standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites for UI, API, and performance testing.

  • Collaborate with developers and QA engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

  • Identify, document, and track defects while ensuring their timely resolution.

  • Assist in defining and implementing QA best practices, including CI/CD integration.

  • Support and improve automated testing efforts for regression, functional, non-functional, and security testing.

  • Analyse test results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve software quality.

  • Ensure automation is scalable and efficient, identifying opportunities for optimisation.

  • Contribute to performance, stress, and load testing to ensure our applications perform at scale.

  • Work in an Agile/Scrum development process, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices in test automation and security testing.

  • 4+ years of experience in QA automation.

  • Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and related test automation frameworks such as Playwright, TestCafe, Cypress, Webdriver.io, Mocha, Chai, Jest.

  • Solid understanding of API and web services testing (REST, GraphQL, Postman, or similar).

  • Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar).

  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (Lighthouse, JMeter, K6) and best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with security testing tools such as OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or similar.

  • Good understanding of version control workflows (e.g Git).

  • Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to provide meaningful insights to developers.

  • Experience with security testing methodologies, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and security automation in CI/CD pipelines.

  • Understanding of common security threats (e.g., XSS, SQL injection, CSRF, authentication vulnerabilities) and how to test for them.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • A strong passion for software quality, automation, and security.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with TypeScript.

  • Industry certifications related to security testing (e.g., CEH, OSCP, GIAC).

  • Hands-on experience in penetration testing for web applications.

  • Experience working in high-traffic environments.

  • Knowledge of Microservices Architecture.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).

  • Strong understanding of frontend performance testing.

  • Previous experience working remotely and within distributed teams.
