The Team:

S&P Global Mobility, a leading provider of data, analytics, and insights for the automotive industry, is seeking a Software Engineer to drive innovation and operational excellence within our OEM operations space. As a core contributor, you will develop new software solutions to enhance our capabilities in meeting client requirements. We are looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual who is not afraid to think outside the box. Your work will have a direct impact on key areas of our business and lay the foundation for our operations.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, fostering continuous learning and growth

  • Design and develop high-performance software solutions that have a significant impact on our business and enhance operational efficiency

  • Act as a stakeholder throughout the software development lifecycle, translating requirements into technical solutions and bringing ideas to life

  • Conduct code walkthroughs and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability

  • Create documentation for technical and non-technical audiences to showcase proposed ideas and finished products

  • Establish technical standards across the organization and provide documentation, educational resources, libraries, and frameworks to support teams in adhering to them

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and debugging expertise to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly

  • Stay at the forefront of technical advancements within our organization

  • Mentor and guide junior colleagues, fostering their growth and development

  • Serve as a central point of contact for technical colleagues, sharing knowledge and expertise

  • Gain exposure to various teams and products, with the opportunity to drive meaningful change within our organization

What we are looking for

Basic Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software development experience.

  • Advanced proficiency in Python programming.

  • Strong SQL skills, including query optimization; experience with Oracle databases preferred.

  • Familiarity with version control systems and source control practices.

  • Experience working in a Linux environment.

  • Understanding of containerization concepts.

  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and familiarity with managing infrastructure programmatically (experience with infrastructure as code tools is advantageous).

  • Understanding of software design principles: Object-Oriented vs. Functional design, Imperative vs. Declarative programming, and design patterns.

  • Experience contributing to large software projects from inception to completion.

  • Familiarity with unit testing and following coding best practices.

  • Experience or a strong interest in working with Gen AI technologies.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

  • Openness to experimentation and a willingness to learn from setbacks.

  • Ability to independently tackle challenges.

  • Comfortable with both providing and receiving constructive feedback.
