Job description
Python Developer (REMOTE)
Xapo combines the convenience of an everyday Bitcoin wallet with the security of a deep cold storage Vault. Our business is growing fast, and we want to make sure we can keep providing the best quality support to our customers. We are looking for a Python Developer who can actively contribute to a challenging work environment.
We need top-tier engineers with a successful track record of finding solutions for complex problems. Xapo has a unique, dynamic work environment as most of our teams work remotely, hence we need engineers who are self-sufficient, flexible and able to learn our technologies and the Xapo way of doing things with minimal supervision quickly.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned developer with proven experience in backend development using python, with strong knowledge of MySQL programming and Redis. The successful candidate will lead the development of horizontally scalable, high-performance applications. This position is 90% backend and 10% front end. Experience with fin-tech and trading platforms development is a strong plus.

This is a remote position - meaning you´ll be working full from home!
Qualification
Must Haves
- 7+ years of Python experience
- 5+ years of MySql and Redis experience
- 3-5 years experience of REST/RESTful, JSON, or Web API
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills and enjoys a collaborative environment
- Flexible, self-starter, fast-learner – willing and able to quickly learn new technologies and skills
Nice to Haves
- Flask, docker, uwsgi and NGINX, experience.
- Solid Javascript and jquery skills
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS development
- Experience using Git, Stash, Jira
- Experience with other major development language and frameworks like C, C++, Java or.NET, Node.js is desirable
- Experience with other front-end frameworks like Prototype, Undersore.js, etc
- Mobile development knowledge
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience within fin-tech and knowledge of Bitcoins would be ideal
