Proof of work

The team

CF Benchmarks Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kraken, is the leading provider of cryptocurrency benchmarks and indices. Its indices are licensed to global financial institutions for the creation of financial products such as; ETFs, investment funds, exchange traded and OTC derivatives contracts. The firm boasts over $90bn in Assets Under Reference from industry leading partners such as; BlackRock, CME Group, Franklin Templton, ChinaAMC and Bitwise. We believe that robust indices of high integrity are essential to the development of the cryptocurrency asset class and its continued adoption by ever more individual and institutional investors.

We’re on the hunt for a Product Operations Specialist to join our team remotely! We’re looking for a highly ambitious and detail-oriented product operations professional to support our suite of index products.

The #1 goal of this role is to ensure operational excellence across CF Benchmarks’ product lifecycle — from index production to their life management — while optimizing systems, data workflows, and internal processes for scale and compliance. Reporting to a senior manager, this is a remarkable opportunity for a motivated product operations professional to shape the future of crypto from a leading position at a powerhouse brand.

The opportunity

  • Oversee index operations with a focus on ensuring methodology adherence and the smooth, robust functioning of the organization’s data production services.

  • Develop and refine scalable procedures that support capable and compliant growth across operational functions.

  • Map data flows across the company and lead cross-functional efforts in data gathering, analysis, and distribution.

  • Ensure that new product rollouts are supported by robust operational infrastructure and administration.

  • Define and plan for the business’s future operational capability requirements.

  • Supervise and automate data management processes both internally and externally with clients.

  • Coordinate and execute operational events, such as index reconstitutions and rebalances.

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation of operational workflows.

  • Collaborate with product development to ensure precise documentation of methodologies and processes that support new index launches.

  • Support sales and senior management by addressing client data queries and performing quantitative analysis as needed.

Skills you should HODL

  • At least 3 years of experience in quantitatively focused roles within the indices business — experience with crypto indices is a strong plus.

  • You have experience working with data to inform operational decisions, track performance metrics, and support cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving landscape.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across sales, compliance, product, and engineering teams, while effectively managing timelines.

  • Solid proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data analysis, with hands-on experience automating recurring tasks and streamlining operational workflows.

  • You are passionate about the cryptocurrency world and, most importantly, have a learning attitude about new crypto-industry trends

  • You believe wholeheartedly in the cypherpunk, libertarian values outlined in Kraken’s Tentaclements document.

  • Based in the US, UK or Europe, fluent in English, and comfortable working in a global and remote-first environment.

Nice to haves

  • Experience with token supply snapping — tracking and analyzing the available supply of tokens on-chain.
