Product Analyst

We are looking for a Product Analyst to help us further understand user behavior in the MyFitnessPal App via actionable data insights that help reveal or clarify strategic choices, and enhance product features and make better data-driven decisions. You will monitor and analyze product experimentation to assess and quantify the impact of product and lifecycle marketing changes. Technical Product Analyst is a hands-on role where you will have to analyze high level business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for our engineering team. You will also collaborate with data, design, and engineering teams to drive consistent and scalable customer event and profile tracking. You will report to the Director, Business Intelligence.
What you’ll be doing:
Daily and Weekly metrics monitoring, KPIs refresh, and dashboard and reports development
Gather, analyze, and interpret data to inform product strategy and inform the product roadmap. Drive our insights engine to action!
Test setup recommendation, estimating timeline to reach significance, test data Q&A and validation
Conduct A/B test data analysis and Pre/Post analysts for feature rollouts to estimate the impact and offer recommendations
Maintain event and customer profile data capture and taxonomy for the CDP (customer data platform) working with lifecycle marketing, product and data engineering
Analyze user behavior, conversion data and customer journeys and funnel analysis and be subject matter expert for experiential analysis

Qualifications to be successful in this role:
3-5 years experience in product analytics, data analytics, data science, or equivalent analytical roles
3+ years experience with SQL, Tableau, and Excel/Google Sheets
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with statistical testing such as A/B, multivariate, and Bayesian testing
Proficiency in applied statistics skills, such as statistical testing, regression modeling, etc
Experience with digital analytical tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap, etc.
Cross-functional communication skills, ability to influence and partner with technical and non-technical business stakeholders
Knowledge of data flow from mobile apps to client-tracking platforms (Amplitude) and how web and mobile analytics works including tags, cookies, variables, and Data Layer
Bonus Points
Experience working with scripting languages such as Python or R
Experience in the health and fitness industry and/or supporting a direct-to-consumer subscription-based product
Experience working with extremely large, disparate data sets and using SQL for data wrangling, designing ETLs, and analysis
Familiarity with data platforms and applications such as Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Redshift, Airflow
Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or related field

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $90,000 - $115,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, MyFitnessPal offers a wide range of comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, parental planning, mental health benefits, annual performance bonus, a 401(k) plan and match, responsible time off, monthly wellness and technology allowances, and others.
