Principal Product Manager - Growth Expansion
What Product Management is like at Gusto:
We’re looking for high-autonomy, entrepreneurial Product Managers to come build high-impact solutions for small businesses and their employees. We believe in high-ownership Product Managers who operate like business owners - owning an entire roadmap end to end and shipping product all the way from strategy through to the nitty gritty details (some describe this kind of role as a “GM” type role).
Our Product team is lean, which means you’ll have a high degree of impact and ownership.
We’re here to serve small and medium businesses. Gusto has a strong mission-driven culture, and we care deeply about lifting up these business owners.
About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Product Manager with a creative mindset to drive growth through innovative digital business strategies. This role involves developing compelling recommendations for our suite of approximately 20 non-payroll products, encouraging customer adoption. The ideal candidate will excel in using digital content to simplify complex business concepts and has a proven artistic ability to create engaging presentations that blend data and visuals.
About the Team:
The Growth & Commerce team is responsible for the shared surfaces and platforms that power Gusto’s growth & primary revenue generating experiences. This includes being responsible for the acquisition flows, cross-sell & pricing experiences, as well as the infrastructure that powers pricing, invoicing and revenue communications. The team is responsible for a meaningful portion of Gusto’s overall revenue goals, and has central, shared responsibility for driving traffic to Gusto’s wide range of small business products.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
Ownership: Own customer experiences driving awareness, consideration and adoption of the Gusto product suite - and represent a primary revenue driver for the company
North Star: Broad adoption of Gusto’s entrepreneurial platform suite of products across the Gusto existing customer base - driving revenue, product and strategic differentiation
Collaborate: Tight collaboration will include the Gusto core experiences team, other growth teams and the various product teams associated with the extended product suite - including HR, payroll, compliance, fintech, time tracking & scheduling and other products to serve SMBs
Here’s what we're looking for:
12+ years of hands-on Product Management experience
Intuition for the issues and economics of small businesses - as well as the ability to conceptualize and articulate SMB business strategies
Experience with and/or intuition for creating persuasive communication for business people - beneficial if candidate has worked in a business consulting capacity
Track record bringing creativity to the creation of digital consumer or SMB experiences
Talent in working with design partners to bring creativity to design
Ability to collaborate with a wide range of cross functional partners.
Either experience or intuition around the potential for AI to change the paradigm for digital experience design
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $179,000 to $224,000/yr in Denver & most major metro locations, and $210,000 to $263,000/yr for San Francisco, New York, & Seattle. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
