Principal Game Security Engineer
Scopely is looking for a Principal Game Security Engineer on an unannounced AAA cross-platform game in Culver City on a hybrid basis or remotely in the US.
In this position, you’d own and execute on the project’s security roadmap, playing a key role in safeguarding the integrity of the game. Secure client-server communication, code obfuscation, data analytics, these should all be things you’re intimately familiar with.

Responsibilities:
Serve as the product owner for game security, ensuring best in class protection
Architect and implement solutions that help us prevent cheating and other exploits
Collaborate with the rest of the game development team to ensure best practices are being followed for secure code
Align with project leadership and other key stakeholders, presenting security proposals, escalation policies, and providing insights on the health of the game from a security perspective
Engage with the analytics team on instrumentation of events that allow for real-time monitoring and identification of cheats
Identify areas where we can bring in third party solutions
Requirements:
10+ years of software development experience in the game industry, with a focus on cheat prevention and cheat detection
Extensive experience with C, C++ and ideally a scripting language like Python
Deep familiarity with Unreal Engine and live service games
Experience with cross platform game development
Experience working with data analysis technologies like BigQuery
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey domain information to non-technical audiences
Bonus points for:
Experience with cloud providers like AWS, GCP or Azure
Knowledge of OS internals
Previous leadership experience
