As strategic thought leaders, the Financial Operations (FinOps) team enables HubSpot’s business objectives by proactively managing financial and operational risk and coordinating with our technical teams to deliver fast, easy, and unified business processes, systems, and go-to-market motions that unlock scalable, sustainable growth.

As a Lead Technical Program Manager within the FinOps team, you will operate autonomously to represent all of Finance (e.g. Accounting, Tax, Procurement, Quote-to-Cash, FP&A, and/or Risk Management) in large, complex, high-impact technical projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Pricing Strategy, Legal, Marketing, and Sales departments to translate strategic visions into solutions that are viable, scalable, and effectively reduce risk to Hubspot. You will effectively manage and navigate ambiguous projects, leveraging relationships to influence outcomes of large, cross-company strategic initiatives. Example projects include owning the financial‑reporting test strategy for major SKU pricing and commissioning changes, or driving the prioritization of new systems or new use cases for existing systems based on the strategic direction of the company.  Successful individuals in this role are adept at building relationships and managing ambiguity, with a strong systems intuition to drive pragmatic success.

In this role, you’ll get to:

Build and sustain a deep understanding of HubSpot’s products, business model, financial systems architecture, and financial operations, along with the organizational culture, to effectively navigate the company and influence strategic decisions.Act as a critical translator between Product and Finance stakeholders. Convey technical solutions and nuances as non-technical business and financial concepts, and educate technical stakeholders on key financial concepts (e.g., SOX controls, ASC606 implications).

  • Help HubSpot “grow better” by assessing the financial impacts of critical system issues and advising product teams on solutions that reduce risk and improve the customer experience.

We’re looking for people that have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience across one or more of the following: financial systems implementations, risk and controls assessment, and/or technical program management in a SaaS or usage-based billing environment.

  • Working knowledge of financial statements, accounting concepts (specifically ASC 606), and SOX requirements; Must possess enough business acumen to independently flag potential financial and compliance risks, and to effectively partner with and leverage subject matter experts (SMEs) within Finance for detailed guidance.

  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to quickly understand complex data flows and system architectures.

  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle with experience assessing risk and advising technical teams on potential mitigation paths

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross functionally and influence/inspire change across seniority levels

  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience identifying and implementing process and system enhancements.

A bonus (but not required) if you have:

  • 3+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4 a plus)

  • CPA, CISA /CIA, and/or PMP certification

  • Familiarity with systems used at HubSpot (NetSuite, Aptitude, Xactly, Avalara, Adyen, and Looker)

  • Experience working with HubSpot or other CRM tools
