Lead Software Engineer
Cato helps hospitals and healthcare organizations source difficult to find supplies. We are a well-funded startup building an AI technology platform to automate sourcing and distribution for hundreds of thousands of products. We are designing our engineering process such that developers can spend as much time being and feeling productive as practical, and that starts with hiring a team of people that love to get things done.
About you
You have one or more of:
Previous experience in a Lead Software Engineer position.
A Computer Science degree (not related degrees) with 7 years of software development experience.
At least 10 years of software development work experience.
You have an interest in real full stack development, everything from front-end to DevOps.
You have some experience building web applications.
You want to keep writing software as your core role, not just talk about it.
You reside in the US and you don't need visa sponsorship.

Provide technical leadership across the Cato platform.
Write high quality, maintainable software that provides a great user experience.
Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements feedback, architecture design, development, test automation, code review, and CI/CD.
Engage in and recommend continual improvement of our process and systems.
Proactively take actions to identify and resolve issues before they impact users.
Regularly help out your fellow engineers and other team members.
Take a leading role in making, or at least informing, important decisions on our platform.

Cato is built on Python, PostgreSQL, React and TypeScript on AWS and OpenAI infrastructure. You don't need to have worked with these before, since we're looking for the best software engineering talent and we know talented people will have no trouble adapting.
