IT Project Manager
The IT Project Manager will manage multiple medium / large projects for a specific Operations Program. This role works closely with the solution engineers, operational support staff, and internal Program Manager within the Technology Project Management group, supporting them during the planning and execution phases of projects, once the solution has been defined and accepted. This PM is responsible for developing project plans, managing budgets and timelines, and leading cross-functional teams. Must be reliable and responsive, with the ability to manage projects end-to-end including communication, issue resolution, and change management.
Your key responsibilities:
Manage cross-functional technology & business teams in the creation and maintenance of project schedules for medium/large complex projects, based on work activities and estimates provided by the solution engineers
Coordinate activities, drive progress, and track status against project plans, timelines and changing priorities from initiation through closeout
Communicate status of schedules, open issues, etc to internal team and leadership. Maintain online dashboards, status reports, and issues lists as required.
Identify internal and external project risks, develop risk mitigation plans, and assist the project team in removing constraints
Manage project issue identification, tracking, resolution or escalation as required, and communication with key stakeholders
Identify and effectively manage remediation efforts resulting from shifting priorities, demands and timelines
Track project time reporting and budget forecasts vs. actuals
What you will bring:
Working knowledge of Google Suite including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Google Drive and project management tools including Smartsheets
Proven experience working with technical and business operations personnel across varying functional areas
Ability to work independently
Possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills
Experience leading applications/system implementations
Strong understanding of and experience with SDLC concepts including Waterfall and Agile methodologies
5+ years’ experience in IT project management
Additional Skills :
Change Management Experience
Ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations to senior leadership
Past project management work within other job functions
Previous use of JIRA/Confluence
Working knowledge of the IT systems or business functions in the telecommunications industry.
Education:
College degree required, BS in related discipline preferred
PMP certification preferred
